The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 106

“You two!”

“Nora, how dare you cheat on me!”

“You’re bringing a man home this late at night!”

“I knew it! That’s why you’ve been so cold to me lately. You’d better explain just what the hell is going on here!”

Aaron was practically hysterical, pacing frantically and shouting like a madman.

Nora had already been pushing herself to the limit to solve the case, and Aaron’s shrill voice made her head throb.

“Aaron, shut up!”

Aaron had never seen this cold side of Nora.

Even if others called her an ice queen, with him, Nora had always been gentle, understanding, and accommodating.

But now she was yelling at him for another man!

Resentment, anger, and a dozen other emotions surged through Aaron.

He grabbed Nora’s wrist, roughly trying to drag her into the apartment. “You’re coming home with me! I’m telling you, Nora, if you don’t explain this to me right now, we are not done!”

“And here I was, worried you’d be hungry after working so long, so I rushed over to make you a late-night snack! I was waiting here like an idiot, trying to surprise you! You don’t deserve how good I am to you!”

Recognizing the gaslighting woven into his every word, Nora didn't even bother to dignify it with a response.

Aaron truly was a master of juggling his time.

He managed to move so effortlessly between her and her sister, all while acting completely devoted to both.

Nora wished Aaron would stick to fooling her and stop fooling himself.

The disgusting things he’d done made her want to vomit just thinking about them.

“Let go of me!”
