“Where are the officers for crowd control?”
At Nathan's question, a few officers immediately walked over.
“Calm them down or disperse them. Don't let everyone just stand around here.”
Nathan gave the order without a single glance at Mia, then strode to catch up with Nora.
Mia’s eyes were fixed on the two figures entering the apartment building, one after the other, her expression full of venom.
Where did Nora find another guy?
What was even more infuriating was that this man seemed even more impressive than Aaron.
Wait, she thought she’d seen him once before! She hadn’t expected him to be so devoted to Nora!
Mia clenched her fists tightly.
That little bitch Nora deserved to spend her entire life wallowing in the stench of corpses, scorned by everyone. What right did she have to be liked by anyone?
“Mia!”
Mia turned to see Aaron, unshaven and looking a mess, running toward her.
“Where have you been! Did you know there was a fire here at your place? You scared me to death!” Seeing Aaron, Mia immediately played the damsel in distress, throwing herself into his arms and batting her fists against his chest.
Any other time, Aaron would have grabbed her hands, kissed them, and soothed her gently.
But right now, Aaron was in no mood for it.
His eyes scanned the officers, a flicker of disappointment in his heart when he didn't see the person he was looking for, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of relief.
“Stop fooling around. Come with me for a second.”
Aaron half-dragged, half-carried her to a nearby corner.
Mia was furious at his actions. “What are you doing? Are you ashamed to be seen with me?”
Aaron was at a loss for words.
“Didn’t you know? Nora’s team is in charge of this case.”
Mia’s eyes flashed.
