The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 167

"Nora!"

As she was wrestling with her thoughts, Julia called out to her.

Nora looked up and saw Julia standing by the window, waving excitedly at her.

"Hurry up, Nora!"

Nora forced a stiff smile, nodded, and pointed to the entrance to signal that she was coming in. Then she took a deep breath, stuck her hands in her pockets, and walked briskly into the station.

As soon as she got off the elevator, Nora heard Julia's exaggeratedly loud voice. "Nora's future husband, just wait a little longer! I just saw her downstairs."

Nora cringed hard at Julia's "future husband." She quickened her pace toward the meeting room and saw a familiar back sitting with his face away from the door. Julia was standing in front of him, her face wreathed in smiles, looking less like a forensics assistant and more like a matchmaker's helper.

"Julia."

Nora called out to her.

Julia immediately looked up. "Nora, you're here!"

"Quick, quick, your future husband has been waiting for you for a long time."

Julia pushed Nora until she was standing right in front of the man.

Before Nora could figure out what to say to Mr. Peyton, a familiar face suddenly appeared in her field of vision.

Her eyes widened, and she stared fixedly at the man on the sofa. "You told them you're my fiancé?"

Nora's gaze fell on his black hair.

"What happened to your bright pink hair?"

The man on the sofa, Nolan, stood up with a brilliant smile. "I dyed it black."

"My dad threatened to shave my head if I came back without doing it, so I had no choice."

Nora's brow furrowed tightly.

Even though she thought Nolan looked much better with black hair than with his previous punk-rock look, she still found the situation absurd.

"Isn't your name Nolan? When did you become my fiancé?"

Her fiancé's last name was Peyton!

Could it be that Mr. Peyton actually took his mother's surname?
