Nora asked in surprise, "Aren't you going home to rest, Nathan?"
Nathan replied, "It won't take long."
Nora didn't say anything more.
The two of them went to the interrogation room, where the two officers greeted them like saviors. "Dr. Hayes, Nathan."
Nora nodded. "I'm not trained in interrogation. One of you should come with me."
"I'll go."
Nathan took the laptop and recording pen directly from the officer's hands.
"You two go home and rest."
After working nonstop for over twenty hours, the two officers were of course happy to finally get a break.
"We'll be heading out then."
After seeing them off, Nora and Nathan entered the interrogation room together.
Aaron, hearing the door open, immediately broke into a wide smile. He grabbed the flowers and offered them to Nora. "Nora, I bought you these—Why are you with him again?"
Seeing Nora appear with Nathan, Aaron completely lost his composure.
He slammed the flowers onto the ground, his face contorted with the pain and anger of betrayal.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? You just want to spite me, to disgust me, don't you?"
"What did our seven years of relationship even mean?"
"What do you take me for?"
Nora rolled her eyes and said, baffled, "What's wrong with you? We broke up a long time ago!"
"That wasn't a real breakup!"
Aaron lunged forward, reaching for Nora's wrist, but Nathan ruthlessly blocked him.
"Mr. Wells, watch your behavior!"
"This is a police station!"
