A jolt went through Aaron.
His face turned pale.
No one knew what had happened in that parking garage better than he did.
He had gotten off work on time that day and gone to the underground garage, planning to give Nora her surprise as soon as she arrived.
But unexpectedly, Mia had also shown up.
She had pulled him into his car, where they were all over each other for what felt like an eternity.
Aaron and Mia had been together in many places, but the thought of Nora arriving any second in that parking garage filled him with a sense of urgency and a thrill that nearly drove him insane.
He couldn't resist taking Mia again and again right there in the car.
In the heat of passion, he had even said a few things about Nora to Mia.
He regretted it afterward, especially when he realized a long time had passed since his planned meeting with Nora, and she still hadn't shown up.
He quickly sent Mia away, thinking he would just have to smooth things over with Nora.
But that day, he got the cold shoulder from her.
"So that day... did you...?"
The more Aaron recalled, the paler his face became.
Numerous details he had previously ignored flooded his mind.
Aaron finally understood that Nora hadn't been throwing a sudden tantrum that day. She had already found out about him and Mia.
"It's not like that, Nora."
"Mia and I were just having a fling!"
Flustered and forgetting they were in a police station, Aaron looked at Nora with a pleading expression. "Give me a chance to explain, please, Nora?"
"I can really explain!"
"The video from an interrogation room won't be released or leaked unless it can be used as evidence in court."
Aaron let out a sigh of relief.
Just as he was about to speak to Nora again, Nathan coolly added, "However, Mr. Wells, you were just harassing a forensic examiner from our department in this room. If Dr. Hayes decides to press charges, this video would be the best evidence."
Aaron's shoulders slumped.
"Nora..."
Although Aaron felt Nora wouldn't be that cruel, he remembered he was the one in the wrong and softened his stance.
"I'm sorry. I lost my composure."
Nora was surprised that Nathan had managed to shut down the frantic Aaron with just a few words. She turned and gave him an impressed look.
Nathan lifted his chin, looking rather smug.
"Now that Mr. Wells has calmed down, shall we begin the questioning?"
