The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 206

Nora's lips twitched. She wanted to laugh, but the sheer absurdity of the situation killed the humor.

This absolute garbage of a man had been her boyfriend for seven years. Having him humiliate himself in front of Nathan made her want to bury her face in her hands.

"Save yourself the trouble and go exchange the size now," Nora said, utterly exhausted.

Unwilling to waste another breath on him, she tugged on Nathan's arm and tried to step around Aaron.

"Nora, wait!" Aaron desperately shoved the receipt deeper into his pocket, looking at her with pleading, bloodshot eyes. "I really can't live without you..."

Nora clicked her tongue in irritation, ready to unleash a barrage of curses, when Nathan spoke up again.

"Why can't you live without her?" Nathan asked, his voice smooth but lethal. "You managed just fine without her when you were crawling into bed with Mia."

"What, is she your oxygen tank? You'll suffocate without her?"

Nora blinked.

Aaron's eyes bugged out of his head. He looked like he was going to pop a blood vessel from sheer rage. "You... you..."

Nathan's gaze was frigid as it pinned Aaron in place. "Did I say something wrong?"

Aaron was rendered speechless.

Nora had never realized Nathan possessed such devastating combat power in an argument. A shameless bastard like Aaron was completely demolished in just a few sentences.

Seeing her trash ex looking so thoroughly defeated instantly lifted her mood. She tugged Nathan's sleeve. "Stop wasting time on him. Let's go."

Nathan looked down at her, the ice in his eyes melting into an overflow of gentleness. "Whatever you say."

Nora felt a sudden flush of heat under his intense gaze. Muttering a quick "Let's go," she stepped forward.

Nathan followed close behind. As he brushed past Aaron, he leaned in just a fraction, dropping his voice to a low, lethal warning meant only for Aaron's ears. "Stay away from my fiancée."
