The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 21

“Why on earth should I apologize to you?”

Nora scoffed. “Aaron, I’m seriously busy right now. Let go of me!”

Her tone made Aaron grind his teeth in frustration.

“Nora, what is wrong with you? Do you think you can just trample all over my feelings because I’m good to you?”

Nora felt sick to her stomach.

This bastard had been getting it on with Mia in a car, and he had the nerve to say he was good to her?

Did he think sleeping around was his way of being good to her?

Nora didn’t have time to get tangled up with Aaron. Her mother was in critical condition and needed her. This disgusting piece of trash could get lost for all she cared.

“Let go!” Nora forcefully yanked her hand away from Aaron and strode toward the hospital room.

“Stop right there!” Aaron caught her by the arm, his eyes wild and desperate as he refused to let her pass. “Nora, you’re not going anywhere until you make things clear with me today!”

Nora was so furious her eyes turned red.

“Aaron, my mom is in very bad shape right now. Get out of my way, I need to see her!”

Aaron didn’t believe her at all and sneered. “That’s a pathetic excuse.”

“Your mom is in the very hospital where I work. Don’t you think I’d know if something was wrong with her?”

“Besides, even if something did happen to your mom, the hospital would call me first. What’s the use in calling you? Are you a doctor? Isn’t that scalpel of yours for autopsies?”

Nora stared at him, a cold sense of realization settling in her chest.

She couldn't believe she had spent seven years with a man who could be this cruel.

So, what he’d said to Mia that day wasn’t just to appease her. Aaron had truly looked down on her profession as a medical examiner from the very beginning.

What made it even more unforgivable was that he dared to joke about her mother!

“Aaron, you bastard!”
