“In three days?”

Nora’s eyes lit up.

“That’s right.”

“These are some of the most brilliant specialists from abroad. They have a high success rate with all sorts of difficult and complex cases. Don’t you worry, my dear. Your mother’s illness can definitely be treated.”

“Thank you so much, Mr. Peyton! I thank you on my mother’s behalf!”

“We’re about to be family, so why all the formalities?”

“But my dear, since you’ve agreed to marry my grandson, I should arrange for you two to meet, don’t you think?”

“Meet?” Nora was taken aback. Her first instinct was to refuse, but thinking of the huge favor he was doing for her, and the fact that the marriage was set in stone, she forced herself to agree. “Okay, I’ll leave the arrangements to you, Mr. Peyton.”

“Excellent, excellent. Don’t worry, my dear. Even if this old man used a little trick to find a granddaughter-in-law, I’m not the type to repay kindness with cruelty.”

“My grandson is handsome and rich. Plenty of women want to marry him, but he’s not interested.”

“Is he interested this time?”

Given his tone, was he really sure his grandson was willing?

In three days, her mother would be transferred out of this hospital. She just had to endure for three more days.

“You love me so much, you’d never be able to stay mad at me. Alright, you’ve slapped me, so any anger you had should be gone by now, right? I know I was wrong to stop you from going to work yesterday, and just now… I honestly didn’t know your mother was in trouble. But didn’t I rush over as soon as I heard the news?”

Aaron walked over to the hospital bed and put on a show of checking on Nora’s mother. “Don’t worry, Nora. Our hospital’s facilities may not be the best, but I and the other doctors will do our utmost.”

“You can rest assured leaving your mother with us.”

Nora sneered internally.

If she hadn’t overheard them in the garage, talking about leaving her mother for dead, she might have actually believed him.
