After all, who would have thought that the boyfriend who had been by her side for seven years would turn out to be a cheating, heartless bastard!
“Thank you for your hard work.”
Nora didn’t mention a word about transferring hospitals.
With a scumbag like Aaron, there was no telling what he might do if he felt cornered.
She had to keep him calm for now. Once everything was settled, Nora would confront him.
Since he was so eager to suck up to Mia, she’d let him.
Being a son-in-law to the Hayes family wasn't that easy. She just hoped he wouldn’t regret it later.
“Nora, you’re finally being nice to me again. Do you know how sad and hurt I’ve been these past two days with you being so cold? I haven’t even been sleeping well.”
Seeing that Nora’s attitude had softened, Aaron quickly sidled up to her, trying to play the victim and restore their former intimacy.
“Then you should go get your hand treated.”
Of course, Nora couldn’t be as gentle and attentive as she used to be.
The sight of him made her stomach turn. It was a testament to her self-control that she hadn’t already beaten him up.
Aaron, clearly clueless, feigned dissatisfaction and leaned closer to Nora. “Nora, you’re so heartless. Have you been too tired from work lately? Come, let your husband take good care of you. I promise all your troubles will disappear!”
As he spoke, he moved in to kiss her on the lips.
Nora’s fists clenched tightly. Just as she was debating how to push him away without raising his suspicions, a knock came from the door.
Nora felt like she’d been saved by the bell.
She shoved Aaron away and called out, “Come in.”
As Nora pushed him away, a shadow of malice crossed Aaron's eyes.
His face darkened even more when he saw who entered the room.
“You again?”
Aaron turned to Nora, questioning her furiously. “Who is this guy? Nora, are you cheating on me?”
