She must be this angry now because her line had been crossed, causing her to lose her reason and composure.
"Nora! Listen to me!"
Aaron still wanted to calm Nora down.
But Nora had already dodged his hand and walked straight toward the police officers.
"Hello, I'm Nora. I'm the one who called."
"Dr. Hayes."
Few people in the police department hadn't heard of Nora's name.
Dr. Hayes was highly skilled and good-looking. Since joining the department, she had helped solve several major cases one after another. Everyone had heard of someone like that to some extent.
However, this was the first time these officers had seen Nora in person.
But no one was in the mood for pleasantries.
They maintained a professional, business-like attitude throughout.
"You reported that someone was attempting to murder your mother. Can you tell us the specifics of what happened?"
Nora pointed directly at Mia. "I went downstairs to pay a bill. When I came back, I saw this woman removing my mother's oxygen tube."
"I have reason to believe she was intentionally trying to kill my mother."
The room became exceptionally quiet at her words.
"Nora!"
Aaron strode over to Nora's side in a few quick steps. He first shot her a glare, extremely displeased with her reckless behavior.
Then he smiled at the officers. "I'm so sorry to waste your time. My girlfriend was just joking. Please don't take it seriously."
Seeing Aaron act like this, the officers frowned.
"And who are you?"
Aaron's expression changed.
