"How is that possible!"
Mia couldn't believe it and shrieked, "There are no cameras in here!"
Nora raised an eyebrow. "So, you only dared to do it because you knew there were no cameras?"
Mia realized she had let it slip, her pale face filled with panic.
Aaron closed his eyes and cursed under his breath, "Idiot!"
Realizing today's fiasco was all because Mia had insisted on confronting Nora, Aaron's heart filled with resentment toward her.
Everything was fine, and she just had to stir up trouble. Now look at the mess she's made!
But remembering his own goals were not yet achieved, Aaron had no choice but to bite the bullet and step forward. "Nora, that's not what Ms. Hayes meant."
Seeing Aaron speak up for her, Mia's gaze toward Nora immediately became smug.
"Don't try to set a trap for me! I told you, I only came in because I saw your mother was in distress! This whole thing about removing the oxygen tube is just a lie to frame me!"
"We'll see if it's a lie after an examination, won't we? Removing the oxygen tube would leave traces."
Hearing this, Mia and Aaron exchanged a glance.
"Please. That's your evidence? And you work for the police department, Nora? How childish. Can you really help the police solve cases like this?"
"I already told you, I came in because I saw something was wrong with the oxygen tube. Of course there would be traces on it."
"I know what you're thinking. Check for fingerprints, right? Go ahead. My fingerprints will be on it."
The more Mia spoke, the more confident she became. "But I definitely didn't pull the tube on purpose. This is all in your head!"
"Nora, I can sue you for slander and defamation. Aren't you afraid?"
Seeing Mia getting so cocky, Nora scoffed and took out her phone.
