The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 368

Nathan let out a low, amused breath. "You really think she doesn't know exactly what I want to do?"

Why else would she have sprinted for the elevator?

She was practically handing them this moment on a silver platter.

Nora realized he was right, and her face flushed furiously.

Unable to hold back another second, Nathan lowered his head and captured her lips perfectly.

Nora was forced to tilt her head back, yielding to the sudden, overwhelming intensity of his kiss.

He kissed her hard and fast, moving with a desperate hunger, as if he wanted to pull her right into his soul. The sheer dominance of it made Nora's knees go weak.

Sensing her trembling, Nathan slipped a hand to the back of her neck, his thumb tracing soothing circles against her skin, calming her down like a startled kitten.

Nora melted against him, a soft, involuntary whimper escaping her lips.

Nathan's breath hitched, and he deepened the kiss.

Nora felt like she was being completely consumed.

After what felt like an eternity, Nora managed to press her hands against his chest, weakly pushing back. "Grandpa... Grandpa is waiting..."

Nathan paused, his movements slowing to something painfully tender.

Nora patted his chest again, a silent plea.

Reluctantly, he finally pulled away.

His dark eyes remained fixed on her swollen, thoroughly kissed lips, his Adam's apple bobbing sharply.

Flustered by his intense stare, Nora couldn't help but complain, "You were acting like you were dying of thirst..."

It was a devastatingly accurate description.

But saying it out loud instantly flooded the air with an even heavier, seductive tension.

"I was starving for you," Nathan murmured, his voice rumbling like a low bass note.

Nora felt a spark short-circuit in her brain.

Seeing the flustered look in her eyes, Nathan leaned in again.

Nora blinked, surprised. "You bought them?"

"But I'm the one going to visit your grandfather. I should be the one buying them..."

"What does it matter? What's mine is yours."

"After we see my grandfather, we'll head over to check on your mother. The doctors said she woke up this morning."

Nora's eyes instantly welled up. She hadn't expected him to keep such close tabs on her mother's condition. "Okay."

Nathan tenderly ruffled her hair as the elevator arrived, hitting the button for the basement parking garage.

Looking at Nathan's profile, Nora felt a profound, undeniable sense of happiness finally taking root in her heart.

Ever since rescuing her mother from Leonard, she had been buried in the Jennings case, barely finding time to visit the hospital.

She had no idea Nathan had been managing everything in the background.

"Has the medical expert your grandfather mentioned arrived yet?"
