Nora ignored the woman entirely, her eyes scanning the room until she spotted Sophie huddled in the corner.
The younger girl locked eyes with her and rushed over, her eyes red and puffy. "Nora."
Hearing the name, the woman blocking the doorway narrowed her eyes, glaring at Nora.
"You're this brat's sister?"
"Let me make one thing crystal clear: there will be no private settlement."
She whipped her head back to Sophie. "I've seen millions of psycho haters just like you. Acting all innocent in public while wishing death upon Michael behind a keyboard."
"I swear, I won't rest until you're thoroughly punished!"
Sophie's face drained of color. The hand gripping Nora's arm trembled violently.
"I already told you, I'm not a hater..."
The woman sneered down at her. "That's exactly what every obsessed stalker says. What's your next excuse? You're going to tell me you don't even know who Michael is?"
Sophie's lips quivered.
"Everyone knows Michael Devereaux. But I genuinely had no idea he was in Luminport City..."
"Save it. I know exactly how your sick mind works. Playing dumb when you people are the most calculating ones of all."
She rolled her eyes, throwing a disdainful look at Nora before stalking back to her group.
Nora's gaze followed her, finally taking in the sharp divide in the room.
The superstar, Michael Devereaux, sat on the sofa like royalty, surrounded by his entourage. A male and female assistant hovered on either side, dutifully offering him water and tending to his every need.
As the shrill woman approached them, the female assistant whispered, "Quinn, the paparazzi have been quiet so far. No one's contacted us trying to sell photos or videos yet."
A look of realization flashed in Nora's eyes.
Thanks to Valerie being a die-hard fan, Nora quickly matched names to faces.
He possessed a certain aura—the rugged, worn grace of an actor who had lived a hundred lives and seen the world from every angle.
It gave him a magnetic presence that was impossible to ignore.
Michael openly allowed Nora to study him.
As a public figure, he was entirely accustomed to being scrutinized and showed no signs of annoyance.
Instead, he simply adjusted his posture, sinking deeper into the sofa, and half-closed his eyes in exhaustion.
As he moved, Nora caught the glint of a diamond watch on his wrist.
"Are you tired?"
Quinn fussed over him, her face filled with worry. She instructed Ronan to massage his temples while she checked the time on her phone.
"I can't believe no one's here yet. How long is this precinct going to drag this out? The culprit is standing right there in perfect health. Why don't they just lock her up? This is a massive waste of our time!"
