The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 382

A glint of surprise flashed in Michael's eyes.

It quickly melted into a warm smile.

"Ah, Dr. Hayes. A pleasure to meet you."

Nora gave a polite nod.

"Nice to meet you."

Michael had made his stance clear, so how Sophie handled the gifts was up to her.

Since the case was officially settled, the traffic officers took their leave.

Michael's team also prepared to head out.

"Michael needs to get back and rest. We have a packed schedule of events coming up, and he needs to recharge."

Quinn had entirely lost her previous arrogant demeanor. She grabbed Michael's arm and practically dragged him toward the door, her hurried footsteps making it look like she was fleeing the scene.

"Wait a minute, Quinn."

Ronan called out to her. "We haven't had Sophie sign the contract yet."

The remark caught everyone off guard.

"What contract?"

Quinn smacked her forehead in sudden realization. "Silly me."

She pulled a fresh contract from her designer bag and walked over to Sophie. "Here's the deal, Sophie. Michael's trip to Luminport City is strictly confidential. To ensure you don't leak this or post about tonight's incident on social media, we need you to sign a non-disclosure agreement."

They didn't need to worry about the police, who were legally bound to protect civilian privacy.

The only wild card was Sophie.

Sophie wasn't surprised. Even though she wasn't part of the entertainment industry, she knew celebrities were paranoid about this stuff.

She skimmed the document and quickly scribbled her signature.

"Thank you for your cooperation."

"And again, our deepest apologies for tonight."

While Nathan went to pull the car around, Sophie and Nora waited by the entrance, clutching the bags of merchandise.

"All this stuff..." Sophie muttered, looking conflicted. "It's way too valuable."

Nora glanced at the unopened merch boxes. "If you don't want the fan merchandise, could I take it off your hands?"

It was Nora's first time asking for something like this, and she felt a little awkward. "My roommate is a die-hard Michael fan. She'd go crazy for this."

"Of course!"

Sophie had been agonizing over what to do with it anyway.

The merch was full of photo cards, posters, and pins. She'd feel guilty throwing it away, but she didn't want it cluttering her apartment either. Even if Michael seemed like a decent guy, the whole ordeal left a bad taste in her mouth.

"Take the VIP ticket for your friend, too."

"No, that's okay," Nora declined. "I'm pretty sure she already snagged one."

"Just take it, Nora. Consider it a thank-you for coming down here to support me. I would've been a wreck without you."

"But honestly, celebrities are terrifying. Do you have any idea how much the breach of contract penalty was on that NDA?"
