The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 51

It was a long time before anyone replied in the group chat.

[Awesome! Thanks, Boss! You’re the best!]

[Thanks, Boss!]

The group chat started pinging repeatedly. Nathan scrolled through the messages with a detached air. When the profile picture he was waiting for failed to appear, he leaned back in his chair, melting into it as his finger moved the mouse wheel to scroll up.

Then, he let out a short, angry laugh.

These little rascals. They replied to Nora’s messages in a second, but it took them a while to get back to him.

It was just as Colin had said. They were all so “warm and welcoming” to the new Dr. Hayes.

Nathan's expression darkened the more he read. Just as he was about to close the chat window, he saw a familiar profile picture pop up with a new message.

[Thanks, Boss!]

Nora’s message was no different from what the others had sent.

But Nathan slowly smiled.

His fingers twitched, and he quickly typed another message into the chat.

[What do you want to eat?]

The group chat livened up again.

Many of them started naming restaurants they wanted to order from, but even more were asking what Nora wanted to eat.

Nora was clearly unprepared for the team’s enthusiasm and seemed a bit overwhelmed.

[I’m good with anything. I’m not a picky eater.]

[Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll try it next time.]

[Okay, thank you.]

Just by reading the text, Nathan could imagine her, brow furrowed and face tense, as she replied to each person one by one.

Everyone else thought Nora was cold and distant, but only Nathan knew what her real personality was actually—

“Boss!”

A startled cry from outside interrupted Nathan's thoughts.
