The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 60

“Grace, you bitch! How dare you lay a hand on me?”

Leonard couldn't accept being hit by a woman. Ignoring Nora’s bleeding forehead, he grabbed Grace by the hair and threw her onto the bed.

Grace was furious. “You animal! Can’t you see Nora’s head is bleeding? We need to get her to a hospital!”

Leonard just sneered, kicked a dazed Nora out of the room, and slammed the door shut and locked it. A woman’s scream immediately echoed from within.

Grace never imagined Leonard could be such a monster. In the end, unable to bear it, she begged him to stop.

She cried out that she was in searing abdominal pain.

She said she was worried about Nora.

But Leonard was like a beast in a frenzy, assaulting her with a savage intensity while cursing, “You think I’m so repulsive? Then I’ll give you a real reason to be disgusted! Grace, don’t you forget who gave you the good life you have now. It would have been so much better if you had just stayed Mrs. Hayes, but you had to make a scene!”

“So now we’ll just torture each other!”

Nora’s memory of that night was hazy.

She only remembered Grace being taken to the hospital later. Due to unstoppable bleeding, the doctors told her she had suffered a miscarriage.

After the procedure, the doctor declared that she would never be able to conceive again.

Nora had thought Leonard would at least feel some guilt over this.

Instead, upon learning Grace could no longer have children, he became even worse, shamelessly partying and womanizing.

As soon as Grace recovered, she filed for divorce.

To spite Grace, Leonard brought Mia and her mother into their home.

Leonard was selfish, volatile, and couldn't stand being challenged or defied.

He was utterly intolerant of any slight.

Nora had said what she did on purpose, to make him go home and torment Mia and her mother.

A vile family like that deserved to torture each other and live forever in their own personal hell.
