What had she done?
"Everyone's waiting for us. Let's head back," Nathan said.
He could see the tension between Nora and Leonard, and he didn't even bother to give Leonard a polite word.
He simply leaned in and whispered softly in Nora's ear.
Then, he took her hand and quickly walked away.
Nora hadn't expected him to do that. Her ears flushed, feeling as if they were on fire.
She didn't ask any questions in front of Leonard, obediently letting him lead her away.
Leonard stood frozen, his gaze dark as he watched Nathan and Nora's retreating figures.
After a long moment, he took out his phone and made a call.
"I need you to run a check on someone."
Leonard's eyes were grim. "Yes, I want a detailed file."

Feeling the persistent gaze on her back finally disappear, Nora glanced behind her.
Seeing that Leonard hadn't followed, she breathed a sigh of relief and pulled her hand free from Nathan's grip.
"Okay, he's gone now."
Nathan stopped and turned to look at her.
Nora felt the atmosphere was a little awkward. She rubbed her wrist and asked, "Why did you come out here?"
Nathan said, "You were gone for a while. Everyone was worried you might have gotten lost and couldn't find your way back to the private room."
So they sent Nathan himself to find her?
That couldn't be right. Would the task force members really be bold enough to order their top Captain around?
"Ahem, he cornered me not long after I came out."
Nora gave a brief explanation, but she didn't seem inclined to elaborate.
"I'll be right back. You go on ahead."
