The Day Silence Spoke novel Chapter 316

“As a matter of fact, I do. Back when Santino Pearce was here, he was working on a deal with a foreign company called TOPSUN. I think they would be an excellent fit.”

Greyson’s reaction was carefully neutral. “And Mr. Pearce?”

“He’s still recovering from his injuries. If you have time, you should consult with him. See what it would take to get that deal done.”

“So you’re set on this specific company?”

“Based on a comprehensive analysis, they are the most suitable choice. They’re an international firm with a solid reputation. Of course,” Clifford added, his eyes fixed on Greyson, “if you have a more suitable company in mind, we could certainly pursue that instead.”

Greyson watched him, his face unreadable. After a long moment, he said, “I’ve only just returned to the country, so I’m not entirely familiar with the current market. But I can certainly do some research.”

“That’s fine. As the new CEO, you have a lot to catch up on. It doesn’t matter which company we partner with, as long as it’s impressive enough to reassure the public. I think you’ll agree it’s a sound strategy.”

Greyson nodded. “I understand. I’ll look into it right away.”

“Good. Let’s try to have a decision before the press conference.”

“Of course.”

“That’s all for now. I’ll have the relevant files sent to your email.”

Greyson stood to leave but then paused. “Actually, there is one more thing. I’ve only been here a few days, but one of our major long-term clients reached out. They’ve requested a meeting.”

“And?”

When Latisha dared to look up again, he was gone. She recognized him—the new CEO of the Lambert Group. He looked polished and gentle on the surface, but his gaze had made her skin crawl.

After her experience with Santino, she knew better than to trust appearances. Everyone wore a mask, showing the world only what they wanted it to see, hiding their true selves beneath.

Even Clifford. To the outside world, he was cold and distant, an untouchable man devoid of desire. But in reality…

Unwanted images flashed through her mind. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to push them away.

When he was with Yesenia, he was probably even wilder. After all, Yesenia could… satisfy his needs.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, she heard the sharp click of high heels in the hallway.
