Chapter 206
Marcus was genuinely stunned by what he had just heard. His father had apparently saved the life of the country’s president, and now that same man was standing before him and bowing with such respect.
For the first time, Marcus realized just how extraordinary his father must have been.
The president smiled and gestured toward the luxurious seating area. “Please, Young Master. Have a seat. Let me offer you something to drink.”
Marcus and Natalie sat down as several attendants quickly brought them tea and refreshments. President Iris sat opposite Marcus, his expression becoming more serious.
Marcus took a sip before finally asking, “Your Excellency, I understand that you respected my father. But why are you giving me this kind of honor? Why did you go this far just to meet me?”
President Iris placed his cup down.
“Because I need your help.”
Marcus frowned. “My help?”
“Yes.” Iris nodded. “I want to give you several missions.”
Marcus’s expression immediately became cautious. “What kind of missions?”
The president sighed.
“Cultivators have become a major problem in this country.”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed.
“It should have been a good thing,” Iris continued. “If people use their abilities responsibly, they can contribute greatly to society. But many of them are using their strength for crime.”
His expression hardened.
“They rob, kill, rape, threaten, and disappear before the authorities can catch them. Ordinary law enforcement is completely powerless against them. And the number of these criminals is increasing every day.”
President Iris leaned back slightly, his expression becoming even more serious.
“It isn’t simply that cultivators are becoming criminals,” he said. “It is almost as if someone is deliberately spreading them across the country. Their numbers are increasing far too quickly for this to be natural.”
Marcus’s expression tightened.
“I have already established several special agencies to deal with them,” Iris continued. “But none of them have lasted more than two weeks. The moment they begin investigating the cultivators, they are attacked. Their members are killed, their facilities destroyed, and their operations completely wiped out.”
Marcus frowned deeply.
If cultivators were truly spreading throughout the cities without any restriction, and ordinary law enforcement had no way of dealing with them, then the president’s concern was completely justified.
“So you want me to stop them?” Marcus asked.

President Iris nodded.
“Yes. I want you to lead the agency.”
Marcus raised an eyebrow.
“Mr. Robert has already told me about your abilities,” Iris continued. “And He also told me that you possess the Book of Life and the Mastery Beads. If those things truly exist, they could make you incredibly powerful. With that. you will definitely be match of them, and catch them”
Marcus’s eyes flickered.
The Book of Life? Again.
He had absolutely no idea where it was.
However, he didn’t reveal his confusion.
President Iris leaned forward.
“If you agree to help me, I will make you the country’s Number One Citizen.”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed.
“Number One Citizen?”
“Yes.”
The title meant that Marcus would technically remain an ordinary citizen, but his authority would stand almost equal to that of the president himself.
He would possess extraordinary legal authority, and anyone who deliberately obstructed or harmed him would effectively be challenging the highest authority in the country.
The position would also come with a unique identification card.
Wherever Marcus went, he could present the card, and government officials would be required to immediately recognize his authority and cooperate with him.
Marcus glanced at Natalie.
She remained silent, clearly processing the magnitude of the offer.
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Finally, Marcus leaned back.
“I’ll think about it first.”
President Iris nodded without pressing him.
At that moment, Robert spoke. “There is one more important matter, Young Master.”
Marcus looked toward him.
“The reason I asked you to come here so urgently is because if you decide to accept this mission, you cannot operate publicly.”
Marcus frowned.

Robert continued, “You must conceal your identity and work from the shadows. If the cultivators discover who is leading the agency, they will target you immediately. so you have to stay away from the limelight”..
Marcus blinked several times, still trying to process everything he had just heard.
The timing couldn’t have been worse.
He had been on his way to finally reveal his identity and reclaim his position to deal with Jackson’s nonsense. He had already decided that he couldn’t keep hiding forever.
And now, just when he was preparing to step into the spotlight, the president had given him a completely different reason to remain in the shadows.
Marcus sighed.
“But I still have to reclaim my position from Jackson.”
し
Robert immediately nodded. “We’ll deal with Jackson together, Young Master. In fact, I’m already involved. My legal team has been working on the matter, and we have several ways to handle him.”
Marcus looked at him.
Robert continued, “But if you genuinely intend to help the president, you’ll have to continue concealing your identity. At least until this matter is resolved.”
Marcus remained silent.
President Iris looked at him with a serious expression.
“I understand what I’m asking of you. It is a great deal. It’s dangerous, and there is a genuine possibility that your life could be threatened.”
He paused. “But I honestly don’t know who else I can ask.”
The president’s expression became heavier.
“If this situation grows any further, it could become almost impossible for the government to control. By then, dealing with the cultivators may no longer be a matter of arresting criminals. It could become a national crisis.”
