The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 43

Chapter 43

Jessica stood frozen, still trying to process everything that had just happened. Her mind was spinning with questions as the Red Tigers efficiently rounded up Wilson and his men, dragging the groaning thugs into armored vehicles. One by one, the criminals were loaded away until only Jessica, Marcus, and Lieutenant Xander remained in the now-quiet compound.

Xander turned to Jessica with professional courtesy. “Miss, you should get yourself checked at the National Military Hospital. We’ll arrange immediate treatment and ensure you are fully taken care of.”

Jessica blinked in shock at the level of respect and care in his voice. Why were these elite soldiers treating her with such importance?

Suddenly, a familiar voice shouted from the entrance. “Jessica! Jessica, are you okay?!”

They turned to see Mrs. Morgan and Travis hurrying toward them. Travis had somehow managed to

track their location and had rushed here with her mother.

Jessica’s eyes filled with tears as she rushed forward and threw herself into her mother’s arms. “Mom!”

“Oh my daughter, are you okay?” Mrs. Morgan asked, hugging her tightly while checking her for injuries.

Jessica nodded against her shoulder. “Marcus saved me. Wilson almost… but Marcus came in time. Then the Special Ops Red Tigers arrived and rescued us from the thugs. It’s all thanks to Marcus. He

saved me from the worst.”

Mrs. Morgan pulled back and looked at Marcus with clear irritation. “You are so foolish. How are you still with someone that caused all this trouble for you? You were here because of him. He should be the one thanking you. What if Travis hadn’t called the Red Tigers Special Ops?”

Marcus frowned deeply. “Travis called them? The Special Ops?”

Mrs. Morgan nodded proudly. “Yeah, you look surprised. He pulled something you will never be able to pull in your entire lifetime! If not for him, you would have died already.”

Travis gulped nervously, hearing Mrs. Morgan praise him so highly. In truth, he had only sent a desperate message to the Langstone contact, but no one had responded. He had no idea how the Red Tigers had actually shown up.

Jessica looked at Travis with wide eyes. “Really? Travis is the one?! I thought for a second it was Marcus! I’m so grateful, Travis.”

Travis enjoyed the praising smiles and straightened up. “It’s nothing. I will do anything to save you,

Jessica.”

Mrs. Morgan scoffed loudly. “How could you even think someone as lowly as Marcus could call the Special Ops? Stop dreaming.”

Marcus then chimed in, his voice calm but firm. “So Travis, you are the one that called them?”

Travis forced a confident smirk. “You must be shocked. Yes, I did.”

Even though Travis had his doubts, he believed Marcus could never pull off something like this. Surely the mysterious man from the Langstone family had seen his message and sprung into action.

Marcus scoffed. “Why are you lying, Travis, when you know you will still be caught?”

Mrs. Morgan crossed her arms and laughed mockingly. “So if it isn’t Travis who called them, then who? You?” She laughed again. “Stop making me laugh.”

Travis laughed loudly, clearly enjoying the moment. “This is so shocking to him. Poor guy can’t even accept the truth.”

Marcus turned to Lieutenant Xander, his expression calm. “Xander, is he the one that called Commander Lee?”

Travis was surprised at how casually Marcus mentioned Commander Lee, as if it meant nothing. *Maybe he just heard the name somewhere,* Travis thought.

Xander shook his head. “Nope. I was just called on a Code Red. Someone worthy of national security protection was in danger, so I rushed here. When I saw both of you in trouble, I thought it was you two.”

Travis stepped forward confidently. “Well, you thought wrong. I’m the one that called someone, and that person called Commander Lee.”

Marcus scoffed. “You called someone?”

“Yeah,” Travis replied smugly. “My man from the Langstone family.”

Xander gulped visibly. He had heard how much Commander Lee respected the powerful Langstone family. Offending anyone connected to them could end his career instantly. He turned to Travis. “You really called someone from the Langstone family?”

“Yeah, don’t be fooled by this idiot,” Travis said, gesturing dismissively at Marcus. “I have proof.”

He pulled out his phone and showed them the text message. “This is me asking for help from him.”

Marcus couldn’t believe Travis was doubling down. “So we should accept that you did it just because you messaged someone random claiming it’s from the Langstone family?”

Mrs. Morgan glared at Marcus. “What are you even spewing? He texted him and that’s why the Special Ops are here. Simple.”

Marcus remained firm. “The person didn’t even send a message back. And he’s the one that called?”

Travis sneered. “Because you’re a poor filth, you don’t know what being wealthy and connected looks like. he is so busy. yet he still pulled something like this for me.”

Xander gulped again, unsure what to do. He faced Marcus. “So if this man didn’t call them, are you insinuating that it was you?”

Marcus scoffed. “Yeah. I am.”

Mrs. Morgan burst into loud laughter. “Hallucination! This boy is hallucinating!”

Jessica sighed deeply and looked at Marcus with disappointment. “Marcus, you think you are capable of calling someone from the Langstone family?”

Travis jumped in quickly. “Officer, look at him. He is someone from a poor background. An orphan. And you think he can influence Commander Lee?”

Xander studied Marcus, noting his simple clothes, then glanced at Travis who exuded wealth and confidence. He bowed respectfully toward Travis. “Sorry sir for the misunderstanding. I ought to be punished.”

Travis smiled triumphantly. “It’s okay. You did well.”

Mrs. Morgan grinned proudly. “Look at that. Even a lieutenant is bowing for Travis.”
