Harlan Voss stood tall. His sharp eyes swept over the broken porcelain scattered across the floor, then

landed on Marcus.

For a split second, his expression shifted-recognition flashing across his face.

Harlan had been among one of the important guests Marcus met earlier that day at the private island

event,

Harlan was about to call his name, but Marcus gave a subtle, almost imperceptible signal with his eyes, not to expose him. Harlan understood immediately and kept his composure.

“What exactly happened here?” Harlan demanded, his voice deep and authoritative.

The manager straightened up, seizing what he thought was his chance. “This low-class troublemaker knocked over one of our finest plates, sir. Worth thousands. He refuses to pay, and his friends are backing him up with lies. I have witnesses!”

Julia stepped forward, her voice sharp with indignation. “That’s a lie! He started this whole thing. The manager was the one harassing us from the beginning, trying to kick us out for no reason. Marcus didn’t touch anything!”

The manager sneered, turning to the onlookers. “Ask everyone here! They saw him. He’s the one causing

chaos.”

Harlan’s gaze turned icy as he faced Marcus directly, though his words were aimed at the manager. “Be very careful with your accusations. we will review the surveillance footage to check!”.

The manager trembled visibly, sweat beading on his forehead, but stubborn arrogance and confidence that Harlan would take his words over some useless poor man. “No need for cameras, sir. I know what I

saw. Four of us witnessed it clearly.”

“Well, let still check the footage to see what happened then!”.

The manaher blinked and couldn’t believe it. He shot a desperate glance toward Jordan, who cleared his throat and stepped forward with practiced smoothness, trying to insert himself into the situation.

“Mr. Voss, I presume?” Jordan said, forcing a confident smile. “I’m Jordan, from the Fisher family. We’re quite close to Mr. Edward Langstone. I was right here and can testify that the manager is telling the truth. This man,” he jabbed a finger at Marcus, “clearly knocked the plate over in a fit of anger. you don’t have to stress yourself in checking it out”

Harlan turned his full attention to Jordan and let out a cold, dismissive laugh that echoed through the

restaurant.

“The Fisher family? What are they-a group of seafood suppliers?”.

The remark landed like a slap, drawing confused scoffs and whispers from the crowd. Jordan’s face flushed a deep, humiliated red, but he didn’t dare snap back at someone of Harlan’s stature.

Before Jordan could recover, one of Harlan’s security personnel approached discreetly. Harlan had already given quiet instructions. “Pull up the footage. Now.”

Tension thickened the air as staff hurriedly brought over a tablet. The manager’s face drained of all color. He prayed silently that the camera angle had missed the critical moment.

But when the video played, it was damning-crystal clear. The manager’s own hand deliberately sweeping the expensive plate off the table, the porcelain shattering exactly as described.

Gasps rippled through the diners.

Julia pointed triumphantly at jordan. “See? I knew it. You’re still lying, just like you did with the ring incident. You set this whole thing up!”

The manager’s knees buckled. He dropped dramatically to the floor, hands clasped together in desperate pleading. “Forgive me, sir! Please, Mr. Voss, I beg you. It was a mistake-a terrible lapse in judgment. I’ll pay for the plate myself!”.

Harlan’s expression remained granite-hard. “You dare lie to me!. Who put you up to this? Speak truthfully, or I will ensure you never work in this city again.”

The manager hesitated, catching Jordan’s sharp warning glare from the side. But with his job and reputation crumbling, he couldn’t risk it.

“It was him!” he blurted, pointing shakily at Jordan. “Jordan approached me earlier. He wanted to stage a scene where he could play the hero, help them out, and win back Julia’s favor. He promised me a bonus. I… I was foolish. Please, have mercy!”

Jordan’s face twisted in fury. “You incompetent fool! How dare you drag me into your mess? i did

nothing!”

Harlan raised a hand, silencing the outburst. “You are fired, effective immediately. As for you, Jordan-or whatever, consider yourself an unwelcome guest in any establishment under my control. Never return here again. Get out of here right now!!!”

Jordan protested, his voice rising in panic. “You can’t do this! i am from the FISHER family, and we are close to the Langstone Family!”

“Do you want the entire Fisher family blacklisted from my shipping routes?” Harlan cut him off coldly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. “One word from me, and your family’s goods will sit at the docks forever!”.

The weight of the threat settled over the room. Jordan’s bravado shattered. The Fishers were ambitious, clawing their way up in business circles, but they were nowhere near Harlan Voss’s league.

Shipping was the lifeblood of their operations; crossing Harlan voss could cripple them financially for years. Jordan’s shoulders slumped.

Without another word, he turned and walked out, his steps stiff with shame and barely contained rage. He had lost again-publicly, humiliatingly. He clenched his hand in anger.

The manager remained on his knees, tears streaming down his face as he continued pleading. “Sir, please! I have a family. Bills to pay. I will do anything-extra shifts, whatever it takes. Don’t ruin me over this. It was just one mistake!”
