The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55

Julia frowned and gazed at Marcus, who stayed calm. He was the one who ordered the ring. On his way to meet Julia, he remembered the engagement ring and, since he was in a hurry, he called one of his men to order it. When he reached the building, he scanned the address and sent it to him to delivered it

here.

Now Victoria was claiming it as hers.

Marcus said, “This is my ring, which I ordered.”

Victoria scoffed. “Stop with your lies and give me that ring. Elgin ordered this for me!”

Everyone was confused. Marcus stood his ground that it was his, while Victoria claimed it too.

Then Ms. Leah chimed in. “I don’t believe that someone who can’t name his father can afford this ring. What business are you into?”

Marcus scoffed and said, “I am…” He really wanted to reveal himself, but Victoria interrupted again.

“Look, what about you provide evidence that you ordered it? Since you did, there should be some kind of receipt on your phone.”

Everyone nodded, seeing sense in Victoria’s challenge. It was a reasonable demand in such a heated situation. Mr. Alfred crossed his arms, his face stern. “Yeah, show us your receipt or the app you used to

order it. Let’s settle this nonsense once and for all.”

Marcus sighed deeply. He had ordered the ring through one of his trusted aides while rushing to meet. Julia, so the receipt and confirmation details weren’t on his personal phone.

He hadn’t anticipated needing to prove ownership. “The receipt isn’t with me,” he admitted calmly. “I sent one of my men to handle the order because I was in a hurry. But I assure you, this is the ring I got for

Julia.”

Victoria laughed sharply, cutting him off with triumphant glee. “See? See! He’s giving excuses. How could you order something worth two million and not get the receipt? You see, he’s a fucking liar!”

Her words ignited the room. Whispers turned into murmurs of disbelief.

Mr. Alfred’s face reddened with anger. “This is exactly what I suspected. A broke imposter trying to worm his way into my family. You have no shame, do you? Coming here with lies and stolen goods?”

Others joined in, their voices overlapping in a wave of abuse.

“He’s clearly a fraud.”

“Imagine lying about something so expensive.”

“Poor Julia, deceived by this nobody.”

“Throw him out before he embarrasses us more.” The shaming grew louder, fingers pointed, eyes filled

Julia stood frozen, her cheeks burning with humiliation as she clutched the box tighter

Mr Alfred raised his hand for silence, then pointed at Marcus. “This is the last warning Drop the ring and get the fuck out of my house. As for you, Julia, you have disappointed me greatly. I will deal with you

later.”

Julia dropped her head, tears welling in her eyes. She felt torn, confused by Marcus’s insistence and his inability to provide proof.

Victoria grinned victoriously and stepped forward to snatch the ring from Julia’s hands. But before she could reach it, Marcus swiftly took the box from Julia. “No, I’m not giving it. Because it isn’t yours.”

Victoria’s face twisted in fury. “Are you still on this? Look here, idiot!” She pulled out her phone and showed everyone the message from Elgin. [The ring will come today, baby! Expect it.]

She waved the screen around. “Look, he literally says he will send me the ring.”

Marcus remained composed. “Well, this isn’t it. You should call him and ask properly.”

Victoria scoffed. “Fuck you. I will.” She dialed Elgin’s number, but it didn’t go through. She tried again. Still nothing. Frustration boiled over as she shouted, “But you can’t provide the receipt! Father, do something!” She turned to Mr. Alfred with pleading eyes.

Mr. Alfred’s patience snapped. “This is your final warning. Drop the ring, or else I will call my guards and have you arrested for robbery. Talk to your thieving husband,” he added coldly to Julia.

Julia sniffled, wiping her eyes. She couldn’t understand why Marcus would lie about this. How could he claim to spend two million on a ring yet fail to show any proof? It seemed obvious now-he was fabricating everything. maybe he just wanted to prove himself to her, that what she believed.

She faced Marcus, her voice trembling. “Can you please return it?”

Marcus started, “But-” He didn’t finish when a knock echoed through the room Another maid entered, carrying a elegant box. “This is delivered to Ms. Victoria from Mr. Elgin.”

Everyone froze in silence. Victoria’s eyes lit up. “For me?”

The maid nodded. “Yes, ma’am.”

The room’s attention shifted entirely to her. Victoria scoffed lightly, taking the box “She must have added another thing to surprise me.”

She opened it eagerly and pulled out the contents. It was a ring-exquisite and dazzling, but lacking the signature ruby stone.
