Marcus was genuinely surprised.
Not only had Janet and Dennis stolen the proposal, they had also deliberately lied that it was complete rubbish just to deceive him and Betty while taking all the credit for themselves.
Natalie quickly noticed the strange look on Marcus’ face and frowned slightly.
“What is it?” she asked curiously. “You do not like it?”
Marcus slowly lifted his head.
“Who submitted this proposal?” he asked calmly.
Natalie answered immediately. “The team leader of the branding department and the branding department director. They really did a great job, right?”
The two board leaders nodded in agreement.
Marcus let out a quiet breath before placing the file gently on the table.
“It is all a lie,” he said.
The room instantly became silent.
Natalie frowned deeply. “What do you mean?”
Marcus looked directly at them.
“This proposal was created by me and another intern named Betty,” he explained calmly. “We worked on it throughout the entire night. Janet insulted the proposal this morning, called it trash, and then secretly submitted it under her own name and Dennis’ name.”
The two board leaders looked visibly shocked.
Mr. Voss immediately leaned forward.
“You?” he asked in disbelief. “You really created this proposal?”
Marcus nodded firmly.
“Yes. Betty and I did. This is not their work.”
Natalie’s expression instantly darkened.
The more she listened, the angrier she became.
Marcus then continued explaining everything that had happened since his first day in the department. He told them how Janet constantly bullied workers, abused interns, insulted employees publicly, and used her relationship with Dennis to control people through fear.

He even explained how Betty collapsed from exhaustion because of the workload and constant pressure.
Natalie looked completely stunned.
“This has been happening inside the company?” she asked coldly.
Marcus nodded.
“And nobody speaks up because they are afraid of losing their jobs.”
Natalie’s eyes turned icy instantly.
Without hesitation, she immediately picked up her phone.
Meanwhile-Inside one of the private offices downstairs, Janet was currently sitting on Dennis’ lap while both of them kissed passionately without care.
Dennis smirked proudly afterward.
“I cannot lie,” he admitted. “Those interns actually did an incredible job with that proposal.”
Janet laughed lightly while fixing her hair.
“Of course they did,” she said shamelessly. “But I already removed their names anyway.”
Dennis chuckled.
“You are dangerous.”
Before Janet could respond, Dennis’ phone suddenly rang.
He casually picked it up.
“Hello?”
A few seconds later his posture immediately straightened.
“Really?… Okay ma’am. Okay, we are on our way. Thank you.”
After hanging up, Janet looked curious.
“What is it?”
Dennis smirked confidently.
“We are being called to the board leaders’ room.”
Janet’s eyes immediately lit up with excitement.
“I knew it!” she said happily. “They are definitely about to praise us for the proposal. I am telling you, promotion is practically guaranteed now.”
Dennis nodded smugly.

“That proposal was too good not to attract attention.”
Janet suddenly frowned slightly afterward.
“Still, we should probably sack those two interns quickly before anything somehow leaks out.”
Dennis waved his hand dismissively.
“I will handle that,” he said confidently. “But let us go meet the board first.”
Janet smiled excitedly before linking arms with him proudly as both of them walked toward the
executive floor.
A few minutes later, the board room doors slowly opened.
Dennis and Janet walked in confidently with proud grins already on their faces, clearly expecting praise and recognition for the proposal.
However, the moment their eyes landed on Marcus sitting calmly beside Natalie-Both of them instantly
stopped walking.
The smiles on their faces disappeared immediately.
An uncomfortable silence filled the room as they suddenly sensed something was terribly wrong.
Still trying to maintain composure, Dennis forced a smile and continued walking forward with Janet
beside him.
Both of them bowed respectfully toward Natalie and the board leaders.
“Ma’am,” Dennis greeted politely.
Natalie did not smile back.
Instead, she slowly lifted the proposal file from the table and tossed it directly in front of them.
“Can you explain this?” she asked coldly.
Dennis blinked in confusion.
“Uhn… explain what exactly?”
Natalie’s expression became even colder.
“Are you seriously pretending to be clueless right now?” she asked sharply. “You stole someone else’s work and submitted it as your own.”
Dennis immediately stiffened slightly, but he quickly recovered.
“The proposal?” he said with a nervous laugh. “No no ma’am. Janet and I personally worked hard on it
ourselves.”
