The Divorce Papers Tasted Like Revenge (Tracy and Chandler) novel Chapter 268

Chapter 268 The Hidden Truth

He had come back specifically for Tracy. He wasn’t the type to let a blatant frame-up slide, and he intended to make sure the people behind it paid up.

Tracy looked down, picking at her nails. “I’ve already got a plan to handle it. I’m sorry you had to worry.”

She hadn’t expected Morten to fly all this way just for her. It was a lot to take in.

“Waylon filled me in.” Morten nodded. “It’s a hell of a risk you’re taking, but it’s a good move. Exactly what I’d expect from one of mine.”

Felix stared at her. “You’re Morten’s student? You’re actually Z?”

He knew the reputation, but he’d never put a face to the name. His father had been breathing down his back to stay on Vector Tech’s good side for years; now he finally understood that the company wasn’t just lucky, it was stacked.

Sam gave Felix a small, knowing smile. “Let’s do this properly. This is my junior. Like me, she’s a major shareholder at Vector Tech. She’s also the professor’s best student; the one who led the AI diagnostics team four years ago.”

Sam didn’t hide the pride in his voice. If it wasn’t for Tracy, the company would have gone under years ago.

Felix was reeling. “If you’re really Z, why the hell are you keeping it a secret?”

Most people with that kind of resume would be screaming it from the rooftops. But Tracy was different. She didn’t care about the noise; she just wanted to be in the lab, working.

Tracy offered a tight smile. “Personal reasons. I’d rather leave it at that.”

Just then, Norman Quinn approached. He was past seventy, his hair white, but he still moved with a certain sharpness. He leaned on his cane as he made his way over.

“Felix, I told you she was a one-in-a-million talent. Believe me now?”

“Grandpa, I got the message a long time ago.” Felix stepped up to take the old man’s arm.

Morten clapped Norman on the shoulder. “You haven’t changed a bit, you old goat.”

“I’m old, Morten. The world belongs to these kids now.” Norman turned his attention to Tracy. “So, do you have a boyfriend? Because if you’re single, you should take a look at my grandson here.”

Felix was a catch, but he was too damn picky for his own good. Seeing him actually talking to Tracy, Norman figured he’d move things along. Having a talent like her in the family would solve their R&D problems forever. A student of Morten’s was as good as gold.

Felix saw Tracy’s face and winced. “Grandpa, stop. I’m not a car you can just pitch to people.”

He liked her, sure, but they weren’t anywhere near that. He was terrified the old man was going to blow it

before he even had a chance.

Norman snorted. “If I don’t pitch you, you’ll be alone forever. You’re thirty. People your age have kids in school, and you can’t even land a date. I’m starting to think you’re defective.”

“Grandpa,” Felix muttered, glancing around. “Could you maybe not do this in front of everyone?”

He could see Tracy was dying inside. She looked like she wanted the floor to swallow her whole.

That was when Sean walked up and put an arm around her waist. “He’s out of luck. I’m the boyfriend.”

The room went quiet. Nobody saw that coming.
