Sam looked at Jared. “Don’t bother. There’s no fixing what you did to Tracy, so just leave her alone. And for the record, she isn’t some low-level staffer. She’s a shareholder at Vector Tech. She’s working for herself, not you. She doesn’t need your perks or your pity, so stop following her around. You’re embarrassing yourself.”
Jared stepped back. It finally clicked. No wonder she wouldn’t even look at the offers he made to get her back home.
Tracy was turning the corner when Chandler stepped in front of her. “Tracy, can we talk?”
Tracy looked him up and down and let out a short laugh. “I don’t see what we have to talk about. Step aside. You’re in my way.”
She knew him too well after three years of marriage. He was out of options and looking for a way out.
She pushed past him. Chandler didn’t follow, but he stayed there watching her leave.
There was a time when he was the one standing next to her. Back then, she actually cared what he thought. Now he’d managed to lose the only person who actually gave a damn about him.

Julie brushed her hair back. “Let’s go somewhere and talk.”
Julie hated being there. If Tracy didn’t have the proof that her father helped Yvonne frame Riley, she wouldn’t have bothered. To her, talking to Tracy was beneath her. Plus, they were both after Sean.
She’d wanted Sean for years. They were supposed to be the ones getting married until Tracy showed up. Because of her, the Whites had lost the Johnsons’ backing. As far as Julie was concerned, Tracy was the problem.
Tracy knew exactly why she was there. Now that Yvonne was down, the White family was next. That whole mess ten years ago wouldn’t have happened without them.
But since Julie had accidentally helped her by tipping off Yvonne and making her plan work

They went to a cafe. Julie stirred her coffee for a bit before looking up. “I’ll be blunt. I want you to drop the stuff from ten years ago. You’ve already got enough on Yvonne to put her away for life. You don’t need this extra charge. If you agree, name your price.”
Julie had only found out about the old frame-up a few days ago. If Tracy hadn’t aired the evidence today, Julie wouldn’t be sitting here.
