Compared to Yvonne, this woman was even worse. She had the same arrogance, the same sense of entitlement. Tracy was certain that if she didn’t hold the evidence against Harrison White, Julie wouldn’t have bothered to speak to her at all.
Julie’s grip on her spoon tightened. “You should be very clear about the White family’s status in Northport. Whatever evidence you have might get my father detained for a while, but the consequences of making an enemy out of us aren’t something you can handle. The Xanders have lost their influence, and Vector Tech is just a small firm. They can’t protect you. I suggest you think very carefully before you answer.”
Her tone was thick with the kind of condescension that only comes from being born into wealth. To her, Tracy was a nobody, and she didn’t care if she was some kind of tech genius; Julie didn’t even consider her a rival worth acknowledging.
Tracy looked at her and laughed. “Is this how you ask people for favors? Let me be clear. I’m not dropping this. Your father, the Gingers, and Yvonne’s family were all part of it. I’m going after every single one of you. If you have a problem with that, we can settle it in court. You can raise your objections there instead of trying to buy me off in private.”
There was no way she was making peace. Every time she thought about what happened to her uncle, she was consumed by rage. They had enjoyed ten years of freedom; now that she had the proof, she wasn’t about to let them walk.
Julie’s face paled for a second before she regained her composure. She gritted her teeth and tried a different angle. “Your uncle’s situation happened a long time ago. Why risk everything against the White family for someone who’s already dead? My father and the others were wrong back then, but what’s the point of pursuing it now? Will it bring him back to life? I don’t think you realize what happens when you cross us. Go ask your father about it, then come back and talk to me.”
Julie couldn’t believe it. She had offered a blank check, and this woman was still being stubborn. To her, risking a war with the Whites over a dead man was sheer stupidity.
At the insult to her uncle, Tracy stood up and threw her entire glass of orange juice over Julie,
The yellow liquid soaked into Julie’s white dress instantly. She let out a sharp scream. “Tracy! Are you insane? You actually threw juice at me? Do you even want to survive in this city?”
Julie looked down at the stain, her face red with fury. She wanted to kill Tracy right there. She couldn’t believe this woman had the nerve to strike her even after being warned.
Tracy slammed the glass onto the table. “Say one more word about him being dead and see what happens. Did they care about what would happen to him when they targeted him? You think because you have money and power, you can just crush anyone you want. You think we

won’t fight back. You’re just like your father and Yvonne, rotten to the core. I’m not dropping the charges, so give it up.”

When she was younger, Tracy didn’t have the power to clear her uncle’s name. Now that she had the evidence, there was no turning back. Yvonne and her mother had destroyed her mother’s side of the family just to make sure they could never return to the Xanders. They had ruined so many lives for their own greed.
Julie’s eyes were watering from rage. She pointed a finger at Tracy. “Fine. You’ll regret this. Even with your evidence, I have ways to make sure Yvonne and her mother never speak. By the time we get to court, I’ll have enough fabricated evidence to make your case look like a joke. Just wait and see.”
She grabbed her bag and stormed off toward the restroom to deal with the mess on her dress.
