Adam nodded. "Yes, I want Bella! I want full custody of her!" he declared firmly.

Fury surged through Celine, and she immediately raised her hand to slap him.

Before she could, Adam caught her slender wrist and yanked her into his arms. "Trying to hit me?" he asked.

Celine glared at him. "Adam, what right do you have to fight me for Bella? I carried her, I raised her, and you've done nothing!" she snapped.

Adam lifted her effortlessly without warning and carried her to his desk, setting her down on its surface. He planted both hands on either side of her, effectively trapping her in his embrace. His deep voice was laced with accusation as he leaned in. "Nothing? If I hadn't played a part, how do you think Bella even exists? Celine, you took something from me to have a child!"

Celine was momentarily speechless. He wasn't wrong. Bella did exist because of him.

She recalled how Robin and Hailey had joked about it before, saying his genes were so good that having his child was a great deal.

However, Celine refused to admit anything, especially now that she was seething with anger. "Adam, I don't want to talk about this!" she huffed.

"Then what do you want to talk about?" Adam challenged. "The fact remains that Bella is my daughter. If we go to court for custody, do you really think you can win? The judge will undoubtedly rule in my favor!"

Celine felt her heart sink. There was an undeniable gap between her and Adam. The court would likely side with the more powerful parent if it came down to a custody battle.

She looked at Adam. She felt defeated, and she softened her demeanor. "Adam, please don't fight me for Bella. She's my everything. She's a part of me. If you take her away, what will I do? For the sake of what we once had, just let me go!"

Adam watched her with amusement. He smirked. "Celine, are you begging me right now?"

Celine swallowed her pride and nodded. "Yes, Adam—no, Mr. Alvarez, I'm begging you."

Adam chuckled. "Is this how you beg? I don't see any sincerity in it."

"Celine, let's get married and give Bella a complete family," he said. "I've already missed out on years of her life, but I know she wants a father. Marry me."

Celine stared at him in shock. "The Hampton family and the Alvarez family have an arranged marriage. You're supposed to marry Carly!"

"I canceled the engagement today," Adam stated firmly. "I went to the Hampton residence and told Mr. and Mrs. Hampton that I will never marry their daughter."

Celine scoffed. "Oh, really? Carly is the heiress of the richest family. You're rejecting her now, but what if you decide to marry her one day? What then?"

Adam didn't hesitate. "That day will never come. I will never marry her," he said with absolute certainty.

Celine narrowed her eyes. "Well, I will never marry you!"

Adam clenched his teeth. "Why not?"
