Millicent was absolutely furious. She spread the story across every street and alleyway in the neighborhood, standing at the entrance of The Gated Community yelling that a violent thug had broken in. She warned everyone to lock their doors and watch out for a madman swinging a bat.

Mr. Smith was equally furious at Millicent.

He genuinely didn't believe he had done anything wrong.

He argued that he was only trying to teach Jasmine a lesson to break her obsession.

"If she dares to feed the dog today, she'll dare to bring it home tomorrow! The only way she'll learn to obey is if the damn thing dies."

But the dog had already been adopted by someone else.

Running into a neighbor's yard with a weapon to beat their dog was unjustifiable.
