Cursing Diana Dodge was a higher priority than fighting over Maloney Jameson.
But this embarrassing incident couldn't be exposed to anyone!
Seraphina Sinclair rolled her eyes at Sebastian Sinclair. "Mind your own business."
Sebastian let out an exhausted sigh. "Give him up, Seraphina. Maloney loves Nora. It's always been her, and injecting yourself into their relationship won't end well."
"Huh?" Seraphina scoffed. "Isn't Maloney, like, over a decade older than Nora?"
"Where did you get over a decade?" Sebastian's expression grew even more exasperated. "Maloney is younger than me."
"I know he's younger than you, but isn't Nora just... barely an adult?" In Seraphina's mind, Nora was just a kid.
She had looked tiny eight years ago, and she looked exactly the same now, like a high schooler.
"If she's barely legal, how did she marry Maloney?"
"How should I know?"
"She's twenty-two."
"You certainly know a lot." Seraphina shot Sebastian a sharp look. "Regardless, there's still a seven or eight-year gap. When Maloney entered the real world, Nora was probably still in middle school."
"You're saying Maloney actually likes her? Are you kidding me?"
"Sebastian, you're at least half responsible for the fact that Maloney and Nora got married in the first place. I'm not settling that score with you right now because you're family, but you need to stop lecturing me."
Sebastian tried to say more. "Seraphina, you..."
"If you have an issue, go talk to Dad. I'm done talking to you."
Interrupting him, Seraphina spun around and confidently strode into the company building.
Watching her retreating figure, a flurry of dark, unreadable emotions flickered in Sebastian's eyes.
A few days later.
Leona York felt terribly guilty about canceling on Nora at the last minute.
[Ugh, the doctor has my foot elevated in a cast. I can't move around, can't leave the house, and definitely can't come see you anytime soon.]
[Don't worry about it, Leona. Just focus on resting. Your health comes first.]
[Let me introduce you to a new client to make up for it.]
[That works for me.]
[Hahaha, I sent her your business card. She'll add you as soon as she's done with her meetings.]
Nora assumed Leona was just passing along a friend's contact out of guilt.
Felix Hart and Jasmine Smith's social media accounts had been updated with over a dozen new videos.
Nora swiped through them one by one.
By the time she reached the third video, Felix's exaggerated monkey-like shrieks blared from the speaker: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! What is this? What is this? A dog! Dog, dog, dog..."
Felix had found a small puppy by the riverbank near their apartment complex.
The following videos were entirely dedicated to the dog.
"You can tell this little corgi isn't a stray. Alright, let's post a 'found pet' notice..."
"Found the owner. It's the neighbor downstairs. He got laid off from a massive tech firm last month and decided to move back to his hometown to slack off. They wouldn't let him take the dog on the high-speed train, so he just let it go! He let it go?! What kind of monster does that? Unbelievable..."
"I officially adopted the little corgi, but what do I do now? The soundproofing in this building sucks. My neighbor is going to kill me..."
"I'm doomed. I'm completely doomed. My neighbor hates dogs..."
Nora swiped faster, accelerating through the feed.
She quickly reached the newest upload.
It wasn't some dramatic neighborhood feud or one of Felix's solo comedy skits.
Instead, it was a written monologue by Jasmine Smith.
