Seraphina's voice sounded calmer and far more grounded than usual. "It's Seraphina."

Nora hesitated for a second before replying, "Ms. Sinclair. Is there something you need?"

She set down her pencil and sat up straight, shifting into a state of high alert.

"Let's meet," Seraphina said, skipping any polite pleasantries or subtle probing. "I have something I need to say to you in person."

"You can tell me over the phone." Nora had zero desire to see her. Seraphina only ever cared about two things: Maloney and Sebastian.

"Like what?"

"You'll see when we meet."

"I don't want it." Nora was resolute. "If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."

"Don't be so quick to decline," Seraphina said, her words speeding up. "I know Cassidy has been desperately trying to secure an invitation to The Global Strategic Enterprise Summit. I can get her one."

"I'm not using this to blackmail you. Think of it as a gesture of goodwill, or as a thank-you for helping me out the other night."

"My only condition is that we meet. You pick the time and place."

Nora found herself choking on her next words.

Cassidy had indeed mentioned that summit to her.

It was considered an absolutely crucial avenue for securing international partnerships.

It was only held once every three years.

Bridget despised dealing with foreign investors, and the Quincy family completely lacked an international presence. If Cassidy could crack that market, it would be a monumental milestone for her career.

But getting an invite was no walk in the park.
