The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 241

Caught up in the heat of the argument.

Nora had completely forgotten that she and Maloney were currently in the middle of a cold war.

And it was all because she refused to let him touch her.

The night before last, after Nora had fallen into a deep sleep, Maloney had sneakily reached out, wrapping his arm around her waist, kissing her shoulder, massaging her thighs, fully intending to have his way with her while she was drowsy.

Nora had woken up furious.

She demanded they sleep under separate blankets.

Maloney flatly refused.

If he refused, they'd sleep in separate beds entirely.

Left with no choice, he had agreed to the blankets.

But even with the barrier, Maloney kept squeezing his head onto her pillow.

He'd purposefully lowered his voice, murmuring 'Nora, darling' right against her ear.

She had clamped her hands over her ears and shimmied to the very edge of the mattress.

He practically shoved her off the bed multiple times.

It had been three days, and not only hadn't they reconciled, but the tension was escalating.

But Nora never, in her wildest dreams, expected him to use that ridiculous pet name on a phone call.

He had never been this clingy before.

Even if he was needy, it was strictly confined to the bedroom. Over the phone, he was always all business.

And asking if she missed him?

Miss him, her foot.

The man had absolutely zero shame!

If it had just been Cassidy listening, it wouldn't have been a big deal; she'd just endure a few taunts.

But Seraphina was sitting right there.

They had literally just been screaming at each other, and then out came that insanely intimate line. The sheer embarrassment was paralyzing. Unable to form a coherent sentence, Nora lunged forward and ended the call.

Seraphina frowned. "Whose voice was that?"

For some reason, that question pushed Cassidy right over the edge.

"Hahahahahahahaha!"

Nora shot her a death glare.
