The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 268

Cassidy:

'The PI I found is from my mother-in-law's security firm.'

'Do you remember Lucius Vane? The guy we ran into at that gala last month with the scar over his eye who called out your name.'

'He's got some bad blood with my mother-in-law, and she happens to be having her people look into him right now.'

'The second I gave the security firm Bella and Vivian's info, they immediately found out that those two are the exact people Lucius has been dealing with recently.'

'They're currently holed up together in a Westside villa.'

'As for who the father of Bella's baby is, we can't confirm that just yet.'

'When are you getting back from the mountains? We need to talk in person.'

Nora's attention was momentarily hijacked.

She carefully read through the PI's report again.

The fact that Bella and Vivian were in contact with Lucius wasn't shocking.

They had known each other in the past.

What was surprising was that there was no one else suspicious on the radar besides Lucius.

So what happened to the government officials Bella supposedly hooked up with out of town?

Nora: 'I'll be back the day after tomorrow at the latest. I'll reach out to a college buddy to get some background on Lucius then.'

Cassidy: 'We're practically tied together by fate now. My mother-in-law wants to take down Lucius, which basically means I'm taking down Lucius. You want to take down Bella and Vivian, and they're all on the same team. That makes us a team too.'

Jasmine: 'What about me? Is there really nothing for me to do?'

Nora: 'Wait until I get back. Dinner's on me.'

Cassidy: 'By the way, what exactly were you doing up in the mountains?'

Nora hesitated, unsure of how to respond.

"Nora."

Maloney's voice suddenly came from behind her.

She swiftly slammed her phone face-down onto the low table next to her.

She turned around, acting completely nonchalant. "Yeah?"

Maloney's gaze lingered for half a second on the phone that she was definitely going to break one of these days, before casually asking, "Ready for the hot spring?"

"Sure," she replied softly.

Soaking in the hot spring obviously wasn't going to just be soaking in the hot spring.

He said they were celebrating a successful proposal.

Nora had no idea how other people celebrated getting engaged, but Maloney only had one definition of the word.

The private villa had its own secluded pool.

But here was the thing.

You couldn't engage in vigorous exercise while in a hot spring.
