"What are you doing?" Nora mumbled defensively.

His voice was dangerously low. "Is there anything you want to tell me?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

Nora's eyes darted everywhere—up, down, left, right—anywhere but at Maloney.

He pressed a thumb gently against her eyelid. "Look at me."

Nora blinked hard. "Why?"

"Look me in the eyes when you answer me."

His gaze was entirely too predatory and deep.

Making a split-second decision, Nora lunged forward and pressed her lips to his.

"Kiss me, darling."

Maloney was speechless.

With just a few words, she completely shattered his composure.

All his suspicions melted into a puddle of affection.

"Half an hour ago, Sebastian checked out of the hospital and returned to the office. He and Seraphina are currently in the boardroom."

As evening approached, Mr. Hudson delivered another real-time update: "Seraphina Sinclair has officially handed half of her executive power back to Sebastian."
