After finishing her thought, Jasmine Smith gauged Nora and Cassidy's reactions.

Nora nodded and turned to Cassidy. "What do you think, Cass?"

Cassidy didn't really want to share her thoughts.

The last time Jasmine had asked her why Nora was keeping her investigation a secret from Maloney, she hadn't wanted to explain it either.

Everything had multiple sides. You couldn't judge situations in absolute terms of right and wrong; everyone had a different stance, and viewing things from different angles naturally led to different conclusions.

Jasmine's perspective was very fair.

Cassidy's thought process was far too rational.

"I have my own thoughts," Nora clarified. "I just wanted to know what you guys would think if you were in my shoes."

"If it were me," Cassidy began, choosing her words carefully, "I'd say he's wonderful, but his motives aren't entirely pure."

"He's desperately trying to treat you so perfectly that you'll never be able to leave him."

"But at the same time, he completely hid everything he did for you. That proves he didn't want to burden you with guilt or obligation. At his core, he is still putting you first."

After hearing those two contrasting points, Nora fell into deep thought.

Right at that moment, Felix Hart returned carrying two massive bags of fast food.

Cassidy hadn't eaten greasy takeout in a while. Even as she complained, "You're really feeding a pregnant woman this?" her hand reached into the bag faster than anyone else's.
