"Bella is a walking nightmare. She gets out on bail, and your husband doesn't say a word? Was he planning on hiding it until it blew over, or was he never going to tell you at all? And *why* did he do it?"

"Plus, everything Bella blabbed about—did he know? If he knew, why did he keep his mouth shut? He had the files this whole time, but only brought them out after you forced his hand?"

"That is the damn point!"

Nora blinked.

"Does it really matter?"

Cassidy softened her tone, recognizing Nora's defense mechanism kicking in. "You're married. There shouldn't be taboo subjects. Even if you think you know the answer, you still need to hear it from him."
