The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 327

[I always thought they were a Pro Carry boosting his girlfriend. How did they turn into Top Lane rivals?]

[They aren't Top Lane rivals. They're a Mid and Jungle duo. One's a burst mage, the other is a hyper-carry assassin. They both farm their own kills, and when they die, they scream at each other for not providing backup.]

[That's actually a pretty solid analogy.]

[They could also be the Pro Carry and his Sniper darling.]

[Explain?]

[The Pro Carry clears his jungle and heads straight to the bottom lane to protect his Sniper. Once she's fully geared up and arrogant, the Sniper darling gets cocky, invades the enemy territory to steal a buff, gets caught, and gets lectured by the Pro.]

[Why lecture her for that?]

[Because he's terrified his precious Sniper is going to get jumped by five massive dudes at once!]

[Oh...]

That afternoon, once Nora realized Maloney had used the corporate security system to track exactly what minute she pulled into the garage, she immediately blasted him in her group chat.

It was normal for the security gates to keep logs.

What was highly abnormal was that Nora's badge swipes were set up to send real-time push notifications straight to Maloney's phone!

Meaning, every single time she scanned in, Maloney knew exactly where she was on the property.

Maloney's excuse was that he was worried she might get lost in the building.

She was a grown woman! How could she possibly get lost?!

The worst part was...

Getting caught at the firm meant getting caught stalking Maloney.

It was all Cassidy's fault!

Nora had been feeling genuinely lethargic lately.

But this whole fiasco had fired her up in a way she hadn't felt in weeks.

After a solid venting session, Cassidy and Jasmine somehow hijacked the chat to talk about video games.

Nora had no idea what they were saying.

Her school days had been incredibly boring; she had literally done nothing but study.

Cassidy had lived the most colorful student life imaginable. Once she hit college, she mastered partying, drinking, and gaming.

Jasmine was fairly decent at it, too.

Nora was the odd one out.

[Can you guys speak English?]

Cassidy: [If you're so bored lately, you should try gaming.]

Her body slid sideways, and just as her head was about to crack against the armrest, a warm hand firmly caught the back of her neck.

"It's too windy today. Go sleep in the bedroom."

Maloney had originally intended to just scoop her off the swing chair.

But as his hands brushed her waist, he paused and softened his tone. "Is that okay?"

Nora completely relaxed, letting her weight rest in his palms. She murmured a sleepy, "Mhm."

She napped all the way until five in the afternoon.

Waking up in bed, Nora squinted, fumbling for her phone. She noticed a new group chat in her notifications.

[Four Beauties Seeking a Pro Carry]

There were exactly four people in it: Nora, Cassidy, Jasmine, and Felix.

Did "Four Beauties" refer to... the four of them?

While she had been sleeping, the chat had blown up with 99+ unread messages.

Someone had tagged her directly.

She scrolled up and saw they were begging her to add Maloney to the group.
