The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 329

The two books were: The Essence of Business and The Art of Opening a Store.

With knowledge literally handed to her, there was no reason to turn it down.

Nora stayed in Maloney's study, reading the entire night.

Maloney took two massive conference calls right next to her, switching effortlessly between languages, but Nora completely tuned it out.

Once her brain entered hyper-focus mode, she could block out every external distraction in the universe.

Around eleven that night.

Nora finally put down the book, stood up from her chair, and stretched languidly.

Maloney was reviewing a financial report. Seeing her get up, he looked over and asked, "Any thoughts?"

Nora frowned slightly. "I'm putting the club idea on hold."

Maloney didn't press her. Instead, he asked, "Are you hungry? Want a late-night snack?"

"Yes." Coming out of her deep focus, and having slept half the afternoon away, Nora wasn't the least bit tired.

Their midnight snack consisted of steak and a light salad.

Nora chewed her steak in small, delicate bites. Maloney found himself staring at her flushed lips, a sudden, burning thirst tightening his throat.

"Nora."

"Mhm?"

"Are you free next Thursday?"

"I should be."

"Come somewhere with me."

"Okay."

Nora assumed Maloney was just taking her on another fun outing.

It wasn't until the day of that she realized they were attending The Global Strategic Enterprise Summit.

This was the exact event Cassidy had been obsessing over, the one she had traded favors with Seraphina just to get a ticket for. It was the ultimate networking goldmine—a place where shaking the right hand meant striking it rich, securing massive cross-border collaborations, and skyrocketing your status. It was the legendary summit held only once every three years.

Nora couldn't help but ask, "Why am I here?"

"Just to take a look around," Maloney said calmly.

Then she would look around.

She had already cleared her schedule for the day anyway.

The summit was divided into several massive exhibition halls.

Maloney took her to the technology pavilion first.

The moment they walked in, they ran into a familiar face.

Cassidy glared at Nora.
