The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 347

Nora still had work in Southampton, so she only returned to the capital for a three-day rest.

During these three days, she spent every waking moment by Cassidy's side.

Cassidy watched her look more exhausted by the day.

"Why don't you go home and get some sleep?" Cassidy finally urged. "I'm perfectly fine here."

Sporting two massive dark circles under her eyes, Nora's voice was raspy from staying up late. "I'm fine. I can catch up on sleep on the flight tomorrow."

The day wasn't even over, and she had already accepted that she wouldn't be sleeping tonight.

Cassidy couldn't help but laugh. "No matter how good the relationship is, you still need to pace yourselves."

It wasn't exactly overindulgence.

Three days straight, six or seven hours a night—even Maloney wasn't superhuman enough for that.

The main issue was that Nora was out all day, so when she got home at night, they didn't just hook up; they had to catch up on pillow talk.

Not long ago, her grandparents had been reported by other residents in the neighborhood for taking in too many stray dogs.

Maloney stepped in to handle it, terrifying the complainants into an immediate apology. But her grandparents felt it ruined the vibe and no longer wanted to live in the neighborhood, planning to move back to the countryside.

Her grandparents were getting on in years, and her grandfather had a bad leg. Their old neighborhood had long been demolished, so even moving to the countryside meant finding a completely new house.

Nora didn't think the issue was the dogs themselves. She had seen social media reels of influencers keeping over a dozen dogs in their private estates, building custom secret bases for them.

Ultimately, it came down to neighbor tolerance.

Since her grandparents had clashed with their neighbors, the logical solution was to move them to a more secluded, private estate and hire extra hands to look after the dogs without bothering anyone else.

But that presented another problem: her grandparents hated being waited on.

They didn't even want a housekeeper for themselves, let alone a nanny for the dogs.

Maloney couldn't convince them, leaving the task to Nora.

They had spent half the night lying in bed, brainstorming over this exact issue.

When thinking gave them a headache, they made out instead.

Clearing the mind was good for generating new ideas, after all.

They were slowly channeling their energy into their respective fields.

Jasmine was now focusing entirely on scriptwriting.

She had gone to a creator's conference last week. On her very first day there, news broke of Cassidy's premature labor. Jasmine had wanted to book an immediate flight back, but Nora stopped her.

Nora had moved faster, rushing back to the capital, confirming Cassidy was safe, and telling Jasmine not to panic.

Jasmine had complained in their group chat, joking that Cassidy should just stuff the baby back in and redo the delivery on her actual due date.

After venting, she obediently attended her event.

The conference was wrapping up tomorrow, and her flight landed tomorrow afternoon.

But Nora's flight to Southampton was tomorrow morning.

When they were younger, they hung out every day, wasting time dramatizing their emotions.

Now that they all had their own careers, getting the whole group together had suddenly become a luxury.

"I'll be back in a week," Nora promised. "You'll still be recovering then. I'll coordinate with Jasmine, and we'll come visit you together."
