Maloney just had to raise an eyebrow, and Nora already knew exactly what he was plotting.

So, she immediately pivoted. "Which is why I think you're right. Having a baby really does mess with your mental state, so it's definitely better to wait."

Maloney: "..."

"You said all that just to reach this conclusion?"

"What's wrong with that?"

"I actually think having one sooner wouldn't be so bad. It might instill some family values in you, so you aren't constantly away from home."

"When am I constantly away from home?" Nora paused, then added, "I've just been a little busy lately."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. Once this promotional event wraps up, I'll take at least half a month off."

Maloney remained noncommittal.

When they arrived at the airport, they headed to the check-in counter together.

Nora stared at the plane ticket in his hand. "Where are you going?"

Maloney wrapped an arm around her shoulder, steering her toward security. "Take a guess."

Nora: "..."

Maloney ended up flying to Southampton with her.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

On the plane, Nora muttered softly, "Did you plan this, or did you just buy the ticket?"

She had booked a business class ticket.

At check-in, they had secured adjacent seats.

It was a luxurious double seat, separated only by a small tray table.

Maloney turned slightly, resting his elbow on the table, and curled a finger at her.

Caught off guard, Nora leaned in.

Maloney suddenly cupped the back of her head and captured her lips.

Nora's eyes went wide in shock.

This was business class, not a private jet!

She hurriedly pulled back, scolding in a hushed voice, "What are you doing?!"

The roar of the engines outside the window tangled with the frantic beating of her heart.

It wasn't until a dizzying lack of oxygen hit her that Nora realized she had forgotten to breathe.

She took a few deep breaths and, driven by some inexplicable impulse, murmured, "...Whatever you want."
