The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 374

Seraphina Sinclair was getting married.

When Nora Dodge first heard the news, she was completely stunned.

Exactly a year ago today, Seraphina had been ruthlessly fighting her for Maloney Jameson's affections!

So much had changed in just one short year.

"Who is she marrying?" Nora asked.

"The grandson of her grandfather's old military buddy. Apparently, he's an officer," Cassidy Quinn replied over the phone.

"An officer?"

"Yep. His grandfather was highly decorated, his father is highly decorated, and the grandson just returned from the front lines. He's prepping for his doctorate at the academy to pave the way for a promotion to General. He's a rising star with a limitless future."

While the news of Seraphina's marriage was shocking, the identity of her future husband inexplicably fit her ambitious style.

Nora couldn't help but gossip, "Have you seen her fiancé? Is he handsome?"

At that, Cassidy let out a cynical chuckle. "Forget about me—even she hasn't seen what he looks like."

Nora was speechless.

"Seriously. I ran into her a few days ago and asked her the same thing," Cassidy said. "She told me her fiancé is away at a confidential briefing and probably won't be out until the day of the wedding."

Nora's jaw dropped. "She's marrying him the first time they meet?"

"You could say that."

"Then isn't it a loveless marriage?"

"She said her future husband gets a ten-day wedding leave, so they'll have plenty of time to cultivate some feelings then."

Only ten days!

"What can you possibly do in just ten days?!" Nora exclaimed.

"Well, I suppose they can get all the necessary physical activities out of the way," Cassidy quipped.

Nora paused.

"I mean, how much of an emotional connection can you build in ten days?" Nora pressed. "Besides, can feelings just be forced on command like that?"

Cassidy's tone turned somber. "Is there a chance they aren't marrying for love at all?"

"But still," Nora argued, "an alliance marriage shouldn't be this extreme, right?"

Her concept of an alliance marriage was still stuck on the arrangement between Cassidy and Parker Quincy.

Even though it was a mutual exchange of benefits between two powerful families, they still cared about the thoughts and feelings of the bride and groom.
