Jasmine looked at Cassidy, utterly bewildered. "What exactly happened? I still don't understand."

Cassidy used her hands to gesture as she explained, "It's like, this, then that, and then this."

"Oh!" Jasmine's eyes widened. "It can do that?"

Cassidy said meaningfully, "Once you're married, just ask your husband to try it and you'll see."

After dinner, as Jasmine drove home, Nora also left Cassidy's apartment.

Maloney hadn't arrived yet.

Nora stood alone outside the apartment building, Cassidy's words echoing uncontrollably in her mind.

Was she really getting that much action?

She honestly didn't know.

Over the past few days, their dynamic had completely shifted, but Nora was always so dizzy and overwhelmed that she had no concept of time; usually, once they finished, she passed out immediately.

That day, Nora had been drugged while offering a toast to her grandfather at his birthday banquet.

At the time, holding her glass and preparing to stand, Bella had deliberately stuck her foot out to trip her. She stumbled, her glass tilting, and half the liquid instantly spilled out.

Thankfully, her reflexes were sharp; she quickly dodged backward, avoiding splashing the alcohol onto her dress.

A look of profound disappointment immediately washed over Bella's face.

Once Nora stabilized herself and turned to pour another glass, Vivian Cole forcefully grabbed the bottle, aggressively refilling her cup while scolding her impatiently—berating her for being so careless she couldn't even stand up straight, and nagging her to hurry up because Arthur was waiting.

Taking all of that in, Nora had simply assumed Bella wanted to humiliate her at the banquet, and Vivian—who always shamelessly favored Bella—was using the excuse of pouring the drink to scold her.

Nora hadn't thought any deeper than that.
