Mischa looked at what was on offer and chose a very simple, but what she thought was a beautiful and elegant bangle in yellow gold that had a hidden clasp and a teardrop–shaped moonstone with seven diamond chips that gave it a tiny little bit of bling.

She touched it and said, “I’ll take that. How much is the jewelry? If you’re not going to charge me for the imbuement, don’t lose money on the item itself.”

Aubrette nodded, “That one is 24–karat gold, and the best quality moonstone, along with real diamonds. I’m expanding into the high–end market. So that little gem is $9,000. I could make it with 9–karat gold, and it’d cost you about $3,500. You’d just have to wait until it’s ready though.”

“No, I’ll take this one,” Mischa stated with a smile. “I really do like it.” She picked it up and really looked at it, even liked the way the inside of the bangle was made.

“Before any purchases are to be imbued, we need to go and get contacts written up and signed.” Maddy stated, “Aubrette, I’ll photograph that for documentation of what it is to be imbued by you.”

Aubrette nodded and Mischa handed the bangle back, and it was set aside on a piece of separate black cloth for Maddy to photograph. She then took one of Mischa herself. “Sorry, but everything will have to be covered. From who you are to what the piece looks like, and what it’s for how it was imbued, you’ll have a lot of things to sign. This evening or in the

morning.”

“It’s fine, I’m willing to do what is necessary,” Mischa nodded.

The bangle was placed into a nice pretty dark green and gold material bag and handed to her by Aubrette, “You keep that until the details are sorted out, so you know I’ve not swapped it for anything else. You’ll also be there for when I imbue it as well. A fresh tiny drop of your blood will be required to activate the imbuing.”

“Alright.” Mischa nodded and paid for the item with her pack card. Stating she’d buy it regardless of if the wolfen council agreed to allow the imbuing. “Where to now?” she asked

Maddy.

“The Alpha’s office, Slade, was prepped for this after you agreed to come here, and I believe he’s been working on a contract for you to read and sign. Though the Wolfen Council will likely want it sent over to add their own parts or clauses to it as well. Probably speak with you too about why you’re doing this.”

Mischa just nodded. “Though why do they have to be involved?”

“That is to do with the former leadership of the back and their involvement of black magic imbued items to stop Goddess–Gifted Mates scenting each other out…”

Mischa stared at her for a long moment and then murmured, “Ah, that’s the notification all packs got, though not the Forest of Light… Hmm, Highland Hills pack.”

“Correct, we got a new name when Slade cleaned house. The council will just want to make sure you are doing this of your own free will. That nothing nefarious is going on. Keeping it all above board and legal, where not only yourself, but the Alpha and Luna of this pack, myself, Aubrette and the Wolfen Council themselves will all have copies of the documentation.”

“Full open disclosure of what is being done. In other words… Do you think they’ll want to speak to my Mate?” Mischa asked thoughtfully.

“I don’t know, but I’m certain they’ll ask if he knows about it and want an explanation as to why he’s not in the loop,” Maddy stated. “That being said, “Alpha Gretta is good and fair. I think she’ll understand and is who we’ll be dealing with, I dare say.”

“Alright. I’ve not met her, not from our local Alpha Council,” Mischa stated simply.

She was taken right to the Alpha’s office and everything was explained to Alpha Slade with his entire unit there in the room, and he nodded and fired off and e–mail to Alpha Gretta herself, “She’ll be in class right now and will read this when she’s done for the day. Likely she’ll call then, and for a full meeting. You’ll have to be here for that. You could be here for several days if there is need for negotiations or Gretta wants to be here for the imbuing herself. Is that going to be a problem with your Mate, Luna Mischa?” Slade asked.

“No, he’s got two mates and spends all his time with her. I’m just in the background nowadays, keeping the pack in the black and nothing more. So if I’m not there, what does it matter?” She shrugged it off. “I’ll stay as long as I need to. I’ll take a picture of my new bangle and post it to my social media page for my pack. That way they know I’m alive and well. Will that alleviate your concerns about my Mate, Alpha Slade?”

“That is up to you,” he stated. “I just don’t want trouble for my pack.”

“I’ll not cause any,” Mischa stated simply.

Maddy smiled, “The packs store is printed on the back of the bag, hashtag away. We have online shopping. Tag the store it could bring customers in from your part of the world.”

“Will do.” Mischa nodded with a smile. “I’ll await news from you then, Alpha Slade.” She

addressed him simply and he nodded.

how very simple a process it was. All she had to do was run on a treadmill until she started to really sweat up a storm and then Dariah, their pack doctor, collected it in clean medical jars. No wonder it was easy for Christy to get a hold of.

She headed back to her suite to shower and pull clean clothes on, and smiled at that bangle. As she slipped it on her left wrist, she did like it, and she could suffer through one bout of heat, in order to be heat free for the following four days. She sat down on the balcony after making something to eat, and thought about that very thing. Finally, she had a way to stop her heat.

But still going into actual heat, she knew it wasn’t something she or Laud wanted, but also knew at the same time that being bound by the mate bond and staying inside their pack, which was the safest option for them, as it was all she–wolves. This also meant they knew that at some point Anthony would have to come and mate them once more.

It was inevitable, because they had a Mate, though knowing that now it was only going to be one bout of heat on that first day, was a bonus, he could well be in the city when it started and, therefore, the bout would be over by the time he got back. Then he wouldn’t be needed at all. Though that in itself would be odd that it was just over after one bout.

Mischa sat and thought about that very thing, how she would explain him feeling it, trying to get back for it, and it ending before he even arrived inside the pack. That would be more than

odd to him. Likely to see him have real concerns something was wrong with her. She wondered if she could put it down to the very lack of any real connection between them.

Maybe shrug it off as she didn’t know, put it down to her condition in some way. She was going to have to think about that, it wasn’t likely just going to be Anthony that was curious about it either. But, if it happened again in November, it would ring true as well. And if he got back, and it was over, that wouldn’t see Christy induce herself into a heat either.

But Anthony, sensing her heat if he was inside the pack, would see him come to her and let his unit know she was in heat. That would be completely normal, and then Paul, or more likely Kendrick, seeing as Christy had ditched the pack’s Gamma, would let her know if Anthony wasn’t with Christy when he sensed it out. That very thing should see Christy rush off to put herself in heat, because she thought Mischa was no longer on birth control.

Which would in turn see Anthony leave her to go and tend to Christy as quickly as possible,

and then he’d not have to come back at all, because hers would be over and done with. That

would be interesting for him to feel it was over. To not feel any more bouts come from her, at all, over the course of a week to nine days of Christy’s self–induced heat.

She wondered what he’d think about that. Would he leave Christy to investigate or stay with Christy and then come find her afterward to ask questions? Would he think he’d gotten her pregnant? It was a curiosity yet to be known. One bout of heat for her and a week or more of

agony for Christy. She smiled to herself, knew it was technically not something to laugh about but, hell, if that she–wolf was stupid enough to do that to herself a second time. It was her own fault.

Mischa photographed that bangle on her own wrist and uploaded it to her pack’s social media page. “A beautiful piece of fine moonstone jewelry, it makes me feel closer to the moon goddess and her will for all her creatures. I spoiled myself just a little. The first time I’ve bought jewelry for myself in years,” she added a hashtag of the store which had the location as Phoenix, Arizona, so they all knew where she was if they checked the store’s location.

Today had been a good day and that post eluded to the simple fact that she wasn’t coming back to the pack today either, she was still off in another state. She could see there were several messages waiting to be answered. She slid the screen down and looked at the notifications, without actually opening them, and saw they were all from Anthony.

She’d stated she was off–grid and was going to be staying that way for at least all of today. He could rant and rave when she got home. She didn’t have to care anymore.
