She was technically separated from Anthony, she had announced that to the pack herself, Kendrick had told her what it sounded like. Now here she was, making posts from another state, and had been doing so for the past few days. She’d not once answered his calls or text

messages.

She was going about her life as she pleased, or as if she didn’t answer to him, just like he always did to her. She was treating him like he didn’t exist and giving him a full taste of his own medicine. She was posting happy things on the pack’s social media for all the pack members to see, which told the entire pack she was not only fine, but happy as well.

As she sat there debating whether to even look at those messages from her so–called Mate, as she was scrolling through the social media posts of the rest of the pack, and smiled at Luna Simone’s announcement of the pack’s babies and the blessings she’d given. There were little flowers and love hearts, tiny little wolf emoji’s all there in that post. It was adorable.

She clicked the like button, it was clear Simone had enjoyed going about attending to Luna Duties once more, had some fun with it, unlike how it would have been back in her day when social media wasn’t about. Then she hit the comment button and wished the new mothers happiness and wrote that she’d come see them all when she got home from her trip.

Actively interacted with the pack and its members‘ posts for an hour, then saw a new message alert pop up from Anthony. On the actual social media page, he’d gone from trying to talk to her on her phone to seeing she was active on the page and so used that to try and get her to speak with him.

Which meant that he knew she was just fine. She clicked the little x on his chat box

notification and clicked out of the social media account. She wasn’t going to let him spoil her mood or interfere with what she was doing.

She’d been more than angry with him, and he’d heard why, and the fact that he’d not called her right back that night about what she’d said; to her that could only mean she was right, and he didn’t know how to explain it to her in a way that wouldn’t see her get even more angry with him.

Because he’d once again taken Christy’s side, and dismissed punishing her for stopping his other Mate for talking to him, used the weakest of excuses, and he’d accepted it.

This, right here and now, Mischa thought, was how it would be when she left him. There would be no concerns at all for her and Laud. They would just go and live their lives and, twice a year, they’d have just one bout of heat unattended for a few years, or the rest of her life, she could deal with that.

20 minutes of pain twice a year. That first one wasn’t the one that caused utter agony, and was manageable. Hell, she could probably get away with using a sex toy to sort it out. Mates often weren’t in the pack when a heat came, if they worked outside the pack in the human world. She smiled to herself and nodded. That was exactly what she would do.

She could in fact plan ahead for that, and she also had tailored pain relief now to, but she had a feeling a shopping trip to a naughty and nice store was in order. She texted into her group chat, ‘Hey girls, my heat’s coming, I think there’s a shopping trip for toys needed when I get home.

She knew they would love that. She left the chat box open, seeing as the phone was still on Do Not Disturb and chuckled when she started getting comments coming back at her about they did too.

That they were in and would start sourcing out the best stores to visit, she laughed even harder when Paul added, “Calm yourselves ladies LOL.” She’d clicked into the wrong chat box it seemed, but what did it matter? That one statement from herself told them all she was looking to sort out her own needs and not have Anthony do it.”

She smiled as she looked up at the moon later that night as it rose above the tree tops.” Here’s to you, Selena.” She smiled. “I trust you must have a plan laid out for me. I accept your mission.” She chuckled softly. A chime of the room’s doorbell sounded, and she glanced at her watch. It was nearly 9pm.

Maddy stood there smiling at her. “Alpha Gretta is on the line and would like everyone there for a semi–formalized discussion.”

“Oh, did you text and I missed it? I do have my phone on ‘do not disturb‘ so I don’t have to have Anthony rant at me about when I’m returning to the pack,” she stated, she stopped chatting to the girls to start compsing a e–mail for the wolfen council member Gretta, if she required proper evidence of why Mischa was doing this.

“No, I walked up there is time. Gretta is chatting with Slade about pack life here, while waiting for Aubrette to come to the packhouse, she’ll take 15 minutes or so.” Maddy shrugged it off.” So there’s no rush. I was also needed in that meeting too, because I e–mailed Gretta myself with what I’m trying to create, and told her that Selena was approving of it, sent you personally to me, spoke to you about who and where to go for what you needed. An added little push.” Maddy chuckled.

“Devious in getting what you want, I see,” Mischa smiled herself. “I can add to that, send Gretta what I’ve got. I did prep an e–mail this evening for the Wolfen Council, from myself detailing out why and backing it up with evidence from home.”

“Good thinking 99,” Maddy chuckled. “Gretta herself knows that I sometimes speak to

Selena. This pack is… Hmm, kind of blessed by her, you could say. Selena stood before many in this very pack and worked her magic for us all once. Gretta was there for that, saw Selena speak to myself and Aubrette too, separately, so I think with it being myself and Aubrette doing the work, everything will be fine. Just the finer details need to be worked out I dare say.”

“So, you’ve got a solid in, with Selena’s backing.” Mischa smiled.

“Not always, but something like this… I believe is beneficial to all like yourself. I also think the council will see it that way too. It’s not something we will advertise we can do or how to do it. But I dare say all Luna’s will be informed of it all around the world, via a Wolfen Council

notification.

“So they can help their own she–wolves or themselves. But they will likely have to contact their own Wolfen Councils to have the conversation and send their she–wolves to us. I’ll

pattern my tech under Wolfen Council Law, but make it so all have to come here for the tech

themselves.

“Hopefully, that will weed out any undesirables, because it will be tailored to individuals, not something that will be advertised right away, will be spoken of by the Council before those she–wolves come here. So it can’t just be used by one to stop another from going into heat and reducing the chance of their Mate’s Mate having his child. Which is the only thing I foresee it being used for. Something specific to your actual situation.

“I could see Christy trying to get her hands on this kind of technology if she thought it would stop you from conceiving an heir. Which means to me others would do that too.” Maddy

stated.

“Hmm, I see it, what you mean, some that want the title of Luna but have not right to it, were too close to the Alpha, or an ex before his Goddess–Gifted came along, could use your tech secretly. Say have the Luna kidnapped, sedated, and the tech implanted and her returned to the pack.

“Only to have her barely go into heat at all after that, and just one or two heats later, that would see some Alpha’s reject their Luna’s in favor of taking another, see it as she was

infertile and couldn’t produce him an heir due to only having one bout of heat.” Mischa followed along with Maddy’s thought process.

“Mm, could well see them go and betray their mate bond with the very one that harmed his Luna, to get a baby from them when they offered themselves to him. He could then say it wasn’t his problem, because he had an heir on the way. Reject his Luna and claim the one that was pregnant. The very one that harmed and destroyed his bond in the first place,” Maddy stated “It’s why it has to be tailored specifically to each individual, stops all of that from happening.”

“I can see you’ve put a lot of thought into this, and how to keep it from being used in a not so

nice manner.” Mischa nodded.

“I was a rogue for a long time and used to sell things on the wolfen black market. I had to know how to make sure they weren’t going to the wrong wolves,” Maddy told her. “I got me a fully legit business now with Wolfen Council approval for all my stuff. But I still consider all external factors or try to.”

They walked into Alpha Slade’s office, and he nodded to Maddy and herself told Alpha Gretta she was there. They were still waiting for Aubrette, then did the introduction between herself

and Mischa.

“Luna Mischa, is your Mate going to be advised of what you are doing. Reducing your heat to near nothing?” Gretta asked her very directly.

“No, and I will not be telling him,” Mischa replied simply.

“Why not?” Gretta stated. “I see why you want it, but still, as his Mate and Luna, shouldn’t he be advised at least of what you’re doing? Essentially, you’re stating you don’t want to birth him an heir to the pack.”

“That is how he will see it,” Mischa acknowledged. “We live by the will of the Goddess, or are supposed to inside our pack, Alpha Gretta. However, Anthony chooses to ignore me for his other Mate, Christy. Yet still tries to hold me bound to the mate bond as is the will of the Goddess and refuses to reject me.

“So, by that logic alone, which is his logic, that I must stay bound to him as I was given to him by the Goddess. Then it must also be the will of the Goddess that he no longer concerns himself with me as his Mate. So, to follow that very logic, then it must be the will of the Goddess that I find away to no longer suffer my heats alone. Correct?” Mischa answered

Gretta.

She actually knew how to talk with Wolfen Council members; she had been doing it now for 22 years. They asked specific questions to get to the bottom of things, to try and trick one up, find the reason behind why one did the things they did.

Mischa didn’t want to drag this out so she laid out all her cards in full, as to how their pack was ruled over. That her own Mate didn’t actually follow that rule because if he did, this right now would not be happening because he’d never have abandoned her in the first place, never have allowed Christy to eclipse her as she had. His two Mates would actually be completely equal in his eyes.

Gretta chuckled softly. “I see you communicate with Alpha Dennis of the Council out there in

North Dakota.”

“I do. I have been a reigning Luna for 22 years,” Mischa stated.
