The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 108

Ch 108

Mischa sat quietly and smiled to herself as Gretta and Slade continued to discuss a few things, as she listened to Gretta verbalize her full approval. Which also now meant that she, herself, had the Wolfen Council’s backing. If Anthony ever found out what she was doing or had done, she could shrug it off and state Alpha Gretta of the Wolfen Council had approved

  1. it.

Not that she was intending to tell him anything at all. She was still planning to try and make him think her heat being over so quickly was due to the current state of their mate bond. Though she would bring her unit and Paul in on this, so they weren’t in the dark and didn’t think something was wrong with her and worry about it.

Getting Anthony to believe it was now her only real problem, but she could lay out her previous heats for him, she supposed, if he didn’t believe her. Remind him that before Christy came along, her heat bouts had once lasted for an hour or more and there had been four or five bouts a day. That once it had been seven or so hours a day of actual mating go between

them.

That her last heat had seen to be only 20 or 30 minutes per bout and there had only been three a day, and their actual mating time was barely an hour and a half. That her last heat was shortened by two thirds already from what it originally had been prior to Christy coming along.

Which meant she could roll that into it as well. Knocking two thirds off once more would actually bring her heat to one and a half days and only one bout a day. Ah, things really were falling into place, and she could prove it all. It wasn’t that hard.

So, one day, with one bout wasn’t even really going to be seen as pushing it, not when it was all relayed back in the manner, she was now thinking. She could even play the card of I guess at some point there just won’t be any heat at all, seeing as our bond is so very broken. Shrug it off uncaringly.

He also knew she no longer wanted him in her bed, because she’d told him that herself, had emotional trauma, and he’d seen that research article stated himself he put it down to her having PTSD over it. Which could also be seen as influencing her heat, or that was how she was going to spin it. Though she had a feeling she was going to have to choose her words carefully.

This imbued item allowed her to have one bout of heat before it actively kicked in and stopped the heat itself. That should push Christy into inducing her own heat. She wondered for a brief moment if she could get Christy to be right there and smell her heat bloom. To use that very thing as an excuse to put herself into heat once more.

Claim

Gillian had voiced it could happen; though a one in a million chance, but would Christy play that card a second time, had she already forgotten what Gillian had stated about how rare it was, and only cling to the words of it could cause the other Mate to go into heat. Forget the facts around it, so to speak, to pass her heat off as coinciding with Mischa’s once more for that very reason?

Her attention was drawn back to the room in full when the screen in front of her was

switched off and the call to Alpha Gretta ended. Maddie had touched her and chuckled. Off with the pixies, happy about getting approval.

Hmm, thinking ahead already.Mischa had nodded and Slade had cleared his throat, and

she looked at him.

He smiled at her, Luna Mischa, the Forest of Light, is happy to be of assistance to the Night Whispers Pack. I’ll have that contract from Gretta within the hour and finalize it to that which was brought up in this meeting. Print out copies in triplicate, one for yourself, one for this pack and one for the Wolfen Council. It will go direct to Alpha Gretta,” he told her.

She smiled at him in return, I’ll keep it in my private study in my suite. I will show it to my unit and Gamma only. They are who I trust and will be aware of what will happen. They will be the only ones in the pack to know.

That is completely up to you, Mischa. You don’t need to inform me where you’ll store it.

Slade shook his head.

Full open disclosure, dictates that you should know where, due to the ramifications of my Alpha Mate finding out. Coming here andshe sighed. Not that I think he will, but.

Ah, I understand looking for all those that signed it or helped you.Slade nodded.

Correct.She answered.

Don’t concern yourself with it, we’re welltrained and likely larger than your pack. Got me a royal backing to soSlade waved it off. Don’t concern yourself with that.

Though I suppose I could bypass all of that and just hand it over to my pack’s lawyer. She smiled now. “He’d find it very amusing, he’d also never tell Anthony. She saw a frown mar Slade’s face and elaborated, Our pack’s lawyers aren’t pack members, are from an affiliated pack. One that I brought in and Nicholas doesn’t like Anthony’s second Mate.

He had a shewolf try and destroy his and his Luna’s bond, and he sees Christy has the same tendencies as the one that nearly saw him lose his GoddessGifted, who he loved. But there were difficulties between them at the time that had to be overcome due to them meeting, and no very nice words go between them prior to the scenting of each other out.”

Claim

Hmm, I can understand that. I did lose my GoddessGifted due to things that were said and moving around us in order to see us be torn apart. Took me seven years to find her and claim her because of others destroying things they shouldn’t.Slade stated, Not everyone gets the happy lovedup life right off the bat, or has, as you can now attest to, a happy lovedup life even after being mated for decades to your Goddessgifted.

Very trueshe sighed. I thought we were unbreakable, how very wrong I was.Mischa

murmured.

Slade nodded, understood she knew. She’d not known he and his Luna had been separated for seven years at the hands of another. She’d never have guessed it from all she’d seen, they always smiled at each other, there was real love there and she knew it. Whatever had happened to them, they’d managed to overcome it and come back together.

Only now did she realize this must have been how the Luna’s unit had all come together as well. Maddie had stated they were all blood bonded to each other, Oriana had stated Maddie had brought them all together. Oriana had left the pack and moved away, turned herself rogue over whatever it was that had ripped her and Slade apart, but now they were happy and loved up, found their way back to each other.

Aubrette, you may go and prepare to work your magic for Luna Mischa,Slade stated.

I’m already good to go. Mischa come to my home just before the solar noon and bring your bangle. And I’ll imbue it when I feel the sun reach its peak. That is the best time for me. When my powers are at their strongest which will make things easier.

Alright, I will be there on time,” she answered, and she would be, with happy jingly bells on if

she had them to wear.

She left Slade’s office with Maddie as Aubrette also walked away. You are a genius, just like

Selena stated.

Maddie smiled. I hope I can figure it outalthough. She trailed off as she watched Aubrette turn at the packhouse front door and smile and wave at them both and she kind of glowed a little under the moon light as it shone on her.

Which brought Maddie to a standstill, they watched Aubrette disappear into the night and Maddie murmured, She’s like a lightbulb sometimes. And shook her head, and they headed for the elevator. I now see her, and with all that was said in that office, I wondered now, if all I actually need is to invent that stretchy webbing and leave the actual heat reduction to Aubrette. It would be less timeconsuming and just as effectivedoes exactly what I want to achieve. She was thoughtful as they got into the elevator. Perhaps all I’m needed for is to find a way to make that imbued stone stay inside the body during shiftingMy last heat Palmer was out of the pack and though he raced back to me my first bout went unattended,

it wasn’t all that bad, just used a toy to sort myself out.She nodded.

Claim

Mischa nodded, I’ve had that happen over the years, done that myself, though now I know it gets worse with each bout that goes unattended. I know I could get through that first bout.”

I overthink it. I now see because that tech part of me wants to challenge myself and see if I can create a medical device to do what you’re looking for. When really, all I need to do is invent a way for an object not to be ejected from the body when we shift, and nothing more,” she mused out loud. I believe Selena just shined her light on Aubrette for me to come to this conclusion, I’m not the one to actually solve the problem, just the one to make if become truly reliable.” She nodded now.

Mischa smiled as she saw it now. What Selena’s words meant, In a forest there is a beacon of light and hope for all in the otherworldly realms. She told Maddie, That is the first thing Selena said to me, and with what we just saw how Aubrette glowed, it was like a beacon of light.she explained her thoughts, Then she told me a shewolf known as a mad genius, endeavors to help all otherworldly creatures and wants to help all be able to move on with their lives, find peace and tranquility, and give them a way to be able to protect themselves from enemies within and withoutthat is you.Mischa stated.

So Aubrette is the light and hope for all otherworldly creatures. You are the genius that will find a way to allow those otherworldly creatures to protect themselves, from even their own Mates. She explained how she saw it all fall into place.

In the forest of light you’ll find the answer, for not only yourself but all others like you as well. Were Selena’s last words. That was just her telling me where to go to resolve the issue I wanted fixed, for not only myself but all others like meYou are correct, I believe in your own

assessment, Maddie. You and Aubrette working together is the way to help everyone.

Maddie smiled at her now and nodded. I think you’re right too.
