It made Mischa’s Luna instincts kick in pretty hard. She was rarely, if ever wrong about her thoughts on she–wolf that glowed that like, which to her meant that she–wolf was likely pregnant to be a week or so along, not yet detectable to herself or her wolf, or those around her. Not the father of her pup either, whoever he was.

She looked her over, no filigree adorned her neck, and she was, she could hear talking about the upcoming shift. If she shifted to her wolf right now, it was likely she’d destroy that pup. This wasn’t her pack and she didn’t know that she–wolf, but she couldn’t in all good conscience ignore that instinct, which was holding her attention in full now.

If she left it alone and was right, a pup could be destroyed. What if that she–wolf loved the man and wolf she was sleeping with? That pup would be a joyous thing between them could see them solidify and mark and mate each other, be happy forever.

It wasn’t in her to do nothing, and though she knew it wasn’t her pack and she shouldn’t get involved, she was going to and knew it. The Luna in her was kind of fretting now that if she didn’t, then it would be her fault that the barely their pup would get destroyed.

She was up a moment later and walking over there to the group, right as they were all getting up themselves to leave for their shift, Mischa touched that she–wolf’s arm and smiled at her. “May I speak with you before your shift, privately?” She asked.

“Huh.” The she–wolf responded with a frown.

“I know I’m not your Luna, but… I don’t know if you should be on border patrol.” She stated, maybe a different tactic would help.

“Ah, don’t concern yourself, Luna, this is my job. I rotate weeks between border patrol and running the teens‘ phys–ed classes. I chose it and have been doing it for 20 years now. I’m not so young.” She smiled at her. “Thanks for the concern, but I’m good and strong and see them two dummies.” She motioned to two men. “They’re my brothers and will be on either side of my patrol. It’s how we roll.”

Mischa nodded. “I…” how did she do this outside of her own pack? Inside her pack she’d have just mind–linked the she–wolf and told her. She couldn’t do that here though, and didn’t want to say it out loud for everyone here to hear. She might not appreciate that, especially with her two brothers right there. She had no idea of the family dynamics.

“Sorry.” She stated, “Different in my pack, Luna concerns I guess.” She waved it off, but even Laud was pushing her to do something about it.

She pulled her phone out and quickly texted Maddie what her instincts were telling her, and

relayed what the she–wolf was wearing. She didn’t have anyone else’s number here inside the pack and didn’t even know if Maddie would be awake at this hour.

She could only hope so. She stepped to the balcony and waited; saw that group of patrollers all strolling out the back of the building and felt anxious about her leaving to go on shift. It was clear from the loose clothing she would normally patrol in wolf form.

Just as she was about to call out and stop her and blurt out the truth of the matter for all to hear, she saw movement coming fast from the left, and saw the pack’s Beta come to halt and stop them all. She damned near sagged with relief to hear him ask them to wait, he needed to speak with them.

She watched from up there as Vance looked at them all and then stated, “Sorry guys, there was a mix–up with the roster. I just found out I accidently doubled up one of the patrols for this morning,” then he chuckled. “My mistake, got distracted by my own Mate while going over it, I guess.” He took the blame for something that wasn’t even a mistake. “Kaley, you don’t need to be on shift today.” he put a hand to the she–wolf he thought he was their for and looked right up at Mischa, and she nodded at him.

He waved the others off, and then he stood there, and she thought, held a private conversation with the she–wolf about what Mischa had relayed. They both looked up at her from down there on the ground and Vance stated, knowing she was listening, “I get nothing,

Luna Mischa.”

“Me either.” Kaley stated.

“I’ll come down,” she told them and they both nodded. She made her way down and out to where they were, to find Oriana out there now along with her entire unit as well. “My apologies if I overstepped, Luna,” Mischa commented. “I kind of have a pretty good pregnancy detection record, this young lady’s healthy glow is… more than normal. It’s a sign of very early pregnancy that I and my wolf can detect, get it right like 85% of the time.” She tried to explain herself to them.

“I’ll take her to the pack doctor for a test,” Oriana nodded. “Best to err on the safe side rather than be sorry… Kaley?” Oriana asked.

Kaley shrugged, “I get nothing, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have the doc make me pee on a stick and find out for certain. Although…” she chuckled almost right away. “The old man that would be the father, is getting a hell of a shock if I am.” She snorted “I’m keeping it Luna, just so you know.”

“Old man?” Vance asked curiously.

“Mm, yeah he’s like old enough to be a pack elder.” She chuckled.

Each to their own, Mischa thought with a smile. He could well be a few hundred years old but only look 30 or 40 she knew, that would depend on the life he’d lived and the genes he had. She watched them all walk off and saw Vance go back in the direction he’d come from, likely back to training. He was probably the fastest out of them all or the one that did the rostering she supposed.

Kaley walked off happily chatting with her Luna and the Luna’s unit about how she was gonna tell the old man if she was pregnant. She shook her head, as Londyn suggested going back to have sex with him and telling him while in the middle of the act. That’s how she told Yuri about their first pup. She picked it up before he did.

Mischa smiled and felt settled and calm once more, as she made her way to the gym to go for that run she and Laud wanted to do. They ran on that treadmill for an hour and stepped off and stretched out, did some weights for 20 minutes and then headed out of the gym to find Kaley strolling down the hall.

She smiled at her. “Thank you, Luna Mischa. You were right, got two pink lines and the blood work came back yes.”

“I’m glad I could get word to you. How’d the old man take it?” She chuckled, using Kaley’s own words for the father of her pup.

“Dunno yet, he’s out training with the Alpha Unit still. That will finish in about 10 minutes. But he’s never had a Mate or pups. Oriana told me he’s 245, gonna shock him good. I’m gonna be butt ass naked in his bed for when he comes back from training.” She grinned.

Mischa smiled, perpetually happy. She thought absently, “You like him.”

“Hmm, a hottie, pure–blooded Elite warrior, went all bloody night long.” She grinned. “Vigorous as all hell despite his age. We’ve been naked every other day for the past week. I’m hoping he’ll, well, fuck me stupidly happy about this pup.” She laughed. “Wish me luck.”

“Good luck,” Mischa smiled as Kaley walked off, smiling away to herself a happy little bounce in her step. Clearly it wasn’t just her that was happy about it, but her wolf as well, otherwise the human counterpart wouldn’t be that happy, would be prone to anxiousness.

It was likely from what she was seeing that she–wolf would probably let that old man, as she referred to him mark and mate her if he wanted to. ‘She seems to be the type that would be happy to take a Chosen Mate if he was the father of her pup, Laud commented.

She headed upstairs to shower and change. ‘Most actually are, and it certainly does sound like she has a good time bedding him.‘ she chuckled.

‘Bedding him?‘ Laud responded. ‘I think it’s the other way around. I got the impression it was the old man bedding her relentlessly. That’s why, every other day, she needs rest in between.‘

her wolf chortled.

“All night long and vigorous, I dare say your right Laud.” Mischa smiled to herself and then chuckled just a little, wolves were maternal creatures and no pups at 245, surely he’d be happy about that. Kaley was a pretty she–wolf, had a nice athletic figure and smelled of highly ranked warriors bloodline was probably just as energetic and had good stamina herself.

Been sleeping together every other day for just over a week, she thought absently likely got pregnant that first time they were naked together. For her to pick it up like she had, they’d continued to have sex as well which meant they were compatible in the bedroom even though they weren’t Mates.

That would also see them consider claiming each other, she had a feeling something good was going to come of that little pup, a union of two wolves and a happy family would likely come from it as well. It always made her feel happy to impart good news to others, as long as they were happy to hear it.

Though sometimes it wasn’t welcomed news and her own pack doctor was asked to give them something to help get rid of the pup. She’d already had that once this year, with one of her pack’s teens 17 and pregnant and didn’t want to be, the father didn’t know. The girl didn’t want to be tied down and so now there was no pup and the father was unaware even now.

Wasn’t the girls boyfriend had come from a drunken hook up was all out at the bonfire, the girl had looked at her and sighed “He’s got a new girl every other week. Hasn’t looked at me once since that night, doubt he even knows it was me he hooked up with.”

It was her body and her choice, Mischa respected that, her wolf had picked it up that very morning and the girl had come right to Mischa with the issue. It was in her pack file but no one else knew, that was just between herself and the teen.
