Mischa returned to her suit and both she and Laud were very happy, they’d finally gotten what they wanted for themselves and had also now helped all the others out there that suffered like they had. It was likely all those in that study would be contacted by Dana with this new way of stopping their heat and getting an
imbued stone for themselves.
That was the very first place to start. They were already known and, regardless of their names not being
published for all to see, it would be that they were registered with research project. She fired off an e–mail
to Dana to tell her what had happened, who and how things had progressed, thanked her for all her help
and asked her to have the list of she–wolves in that research study sent to Alpha Gretta of the Wolfen
Council so they could get help right away.
Now she had to return to enact her plans in full inside her own home pack. She finally sat and checked the flights out of Phoenix going to North Dakota. There were no flights for six days with Wolf Airlines, but there were two on human planes for tomorrow.
She‘ opted to purchase a human world ticket and go back. If she didn’t, that was cutting it too close to her heat happening. So best not to push it, even though she had that bangle now. She’d still rather be inside the pack for it, where she had a scent–proof suite or office, or any room in the packhouse for that matter.
She put a call to Letti to tell her she would be home tomorrow evening, booked a flight and should get in around 6pm organized for her unit to come pick her up, got an affirmative, and then she asked, “So, how are things in the pack with me not there?” She was curious considering her message from Christy.
“It’s what I would call… chaotic I guess,” Letti answered her with a bit of a chuckle.
“Why? What exactly happened while I was gone? It’s only been a week, not like months,” she stated as she started to pack her suitcase.
“I like to call it Christy’s week of hell,” Letti snorted, “That she–wolf thought she was going to have a blissfully loved–up week with her Alpha Mate. Us, your unit, came to the conclusion Christy thought she was going to be able to see what it was like as the pack’s one and only Luna… Only it didn’t really go down that way at all.”
“Tell me the details,” Mischa asked.
“Anthony was annoyed right from the minute you left, and with Christy. He was heard yelling at her about her going out to stand next to him, when he was trying to see you off, that it wasn’t at all necessary, because not only had he told her he’d be driving you to the airport, but to stay out of it.
“So why was she there in the first place? Was she going to climb into the car and go for the drive to the airport as well? Or had she been hovering about by the packhouse doors, hoping and praying Mischa would shoot him down, just so she could put herself right next to him and shove their bond in Mischa’s
face.
“Christy was actually caught out in her actions and by Anthony, no less, she did what she’s always done,

turned un the waterworks, blubbered about being admonished by him. Told him that wasn’t it at all, she was really trying now to actively get along with you, told him she hadn’t once done anything wrong in weeks, was really trying to show him and you, that she had changed and that all three of you could get along.
“She was studying all the time and behaving, and had only gone out there to show you, she cared and to tell you to have a safe trip, nothing more. Then she asked him what was so wrong with her wishing you well, and that she wanted all three of you to get along. Was it wrong of her to try and make an effort? Or did he forever want to keep them separated and not have a united Mate Bond.
“She tried to turn it all back on him, not you. I think she was trying to guilt–trip him into thinking it was him
that was at fault and not her. Because she has actually been quiet and not caused an ounce of trouble for
anyone these past few weeks, as you yourself know, just attended her classes and studying is all,” Letti
stated.
“Interesting.” Mischa murmured.
“That’s not the end of it, there’s more; Anthony didn’t believe her and be all sucked in by her tears, stood glaring at her sobbing there before him playing the pitiful victim act, and snarled at her: Did you hear her not just call me Alpha, in that curt I don’t care tone, she also put you in your place, which meant Mischa doesn’t see, what you just did, the way you’re putting it to me.
“She saw it as you were stepping up next to me, and putting our bond in her face, as you always do, trying to get between us and show her how closely bonded we are when she and I are still broken, and I’m trying to fix it. You’re actively putting distance between her and I, not trying to bring us all together.”
“So, he finally saw it, did he? Took long enough.” Mischa shook her head, because it was too late in her and Lauds‘ book, there was no fixing it on their end.
“Appears that way, but it gets better, there was more to follow, and it was fun for us to watch. As Christy tried to claim she didn’t need to attend her Luna Lessons at all until you got back, that without you in the pack she was stepping up into your position as was her right; until you came home, I think she thought that maybe you weren’t coming home at all.
“She also tried to sit in your seat and push Simone from it. She found out the hard way just how hard Simone hits. Because Christy actually put hands on Simone and literally tried to remove her from your seat. Pull her up and out of it.
“Which saw her be struck by the reigning Luna, that you placed in your chair; and be put squarely in her place, it was in front of all of us. That was like three hours after you left with Brent, pretty much the minute Anthony left the pack territory, to go to the head office.
“Simone’s actual words were: Not only are you not a Luna to this pack, this is not your desk or place. This is Mischa’s, Luna’s desk, do you want her actual seat? To claim what is hers, when you have a desk, it’s over there gathering dust because you aren’t yet qualified to sit at it.
“And how dare you try and physically unseat me… That was when Simone stood up and slapped her, and

with her wulf behind her. She didn’t even bat an eyelid when Christy snarled at her, simply raised an eyebrow and continued to speak. I recall her words were: ! was put in this office by the Reigning Luna, and it was approved by not only the Alpha himself, but all the Elders as well.
“I could claim all this as traitorous ways on your end. Again, you show you want everything of Mischa’s, her
actual desk now I see. Getting yourself kicked out of the pack and losing that title you so desperately want only for yourself. I see right through you. I’ll not request your head, just a full rejection and banishment,
because I knew you’d never change deep down.
“One like you can’t stand being in second place, when really you should be disqualified… Christy kind of just stood there and stared at her, then just stalked off muttering ‘I was just trying to help.’ Then Simone smiled at us all and stated ‘Mischa did tell us Elders we’d start to see something interesting soon, she
wasn’t kidding, I guess.
“That happened all on day one?” Mischa asked.
“Yep, and it kind of escalated every day after that, not with Simone. Christy went back to her Luna Lessons, stayed away from Simone altogether, but between Anthony and Christy. We all watched him start to actively turn away from her. Every time Christy walked towards him and smiled all happy or lovingly at him, called him ‘Tone‘, in that oh, I’m gonna say sickeningly sweet voice, she uses,
“Anthony kind of got angry, he started glaring at her and by day three he was snapping at her to get the hell away from him. He and his beast were constantly rubbing at their chest, they can feel the distance between you, and with you calling him Alpha before you left. Putting you two at full odds, I’m guessing is how he and his wolf saw that, he blames Christy for it./
“You being away from this pack and refusing to speak with him, switching your phone off, he started to fret and freaked out you were going to leave him. He turned on Christy, blamed her, yelled at her that it was all her fault and then every time he saw her his temper flared, even when she tried to calm him down and be caring. Though the worst thing she did was mention your name to him.
“She made the mistake of smiling at him when she tried to reassure him you were going to come home. That set him off even worse, grated out something about how can she be so fucking happy, when his bond with you was so very broken. How come she was walking around smiling and laughing all the time, when he didn’t know if you were going to come back, that you were refusing all calls from him. Her plan to get rid of you, Mischa. I now think she sees it’s not going to work. He’ll likely lose his shit completely and blame her in full if you actually reject him and leave,” Letti stated.
“Hmm… well really it would be his fault, he just can’t admit that. Yes, Christy will also be part of the reason, but it is his actual choice to ignore more and spend time with her. Christy can’t force him to do that. That’s a choice he makes all on his own.” Mischa commented, and she understood it was.
“So that’s how it’s been here inside the pack, he’s been a little less annoyed today. Did you actively speak
to him.”
“Hmm, I did. He called me at like 5am, I’d switched my phone back on last night. Only did it because Christy sent me a message herself, telling me to come home.” She smiled to herself now, as she
13
understood just why that message had been sent.
“Ah, she can’t handle all the rejection of her attentions to Anthony. If she so much as smiles at him
currently, it ticks his anger up, she’s losing the game she put into motion. She needs you to come home to actually settle him, and calm him down so she can go back to being with him, I suppose.” Letti murmured.
