The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 116

he would allow them to do it, seeing as to the humans they were divorced and shouldn’t be seen together in public. He certainly shouldn’t be picking her up at the airport or not without Christy right there on his arm, it would affect his reputation. But if Christy was there it would look like the three of them were currently getting along and that he had nothing to hide

from his fiancée.

She walked off the plane with only a slight frown after texting back, Alright, thanks for letting me know. I

just landed.

She exited the gangway with many others and stepped into the actual airport and there he was, her eyes met his, and before she could even say anything, he stepped over to her and pulled her into his arms, right up against his chest and held her to him tightly, hugging her for all around to see.

She tried to push at his chest to make him let go, but he wouldn’t budge even an inch, and he connected himself to her Please Mish, just let me hold you for one minute.he spoke to her.

She half rolled her eyes and just stood there. She couldn’t actually make him let go, and she knew it. He was stronger than she was and with him feeling so disconnected and having that ache in his chest the entire time she was gone, she knew he was trying to reconnect with her and resolve it.

She could also hear several people chuckling and commenting about the way he’d latched onto her and pulled her into him. He probably looked very loving and like he’d missed her and couldn’t wait to hug her. She just stood there and waited for him to either loosen his grip ar let go completely; she didn’t hug him

r back, saw no need to.

His hand slid up into her hair when he leaned back, and she knew, on pure instinct, that he was going to kiss her, it was all in the way his eyes moved right to her mouth. She took a step back quite hastily from him, and he blinked at the fact that he understood she didn’t want him too.

Human world.’ She shot down the mindlink to him. I’m your exwife, and you’re engaged to Christy for them, remember.’ She reminded him.

Anthony stood there staring at her a little wideeyed as she also verbalized to him that he wasn’t going to be allowed to kiss her either. She was actively stopping him from doing something that he probably thought was purely instinctual, and once upon a time she would never have even considered stopping him from doing, or denying him.

She would have simply just smiled up at him and let him lean down and kiss her for however long he felt like it, regardless of how many humans were about watching it, would have once gotten hot and bothered, and they’d likely have gone to his car and had sex before even leaving the airport, after being a part for so long.

That was why his Alpha car had black tinted windows, because once upon a time they could just pull over and have sex in there anytime they liked, if they got all wound up while driving around or even to and from

the office.

Mischa pushed her suitcase at Anthony as a way to distract him and his hand instinctively reached out

and took it, though his eyes never left hers. She was on the move a moment later, walking past him, and

she heard his drag in a breath and then huffed out. You’re still mad at me, I see

Why would I be mad at you?she asked right back.

He caught up to her and fell into step with her, and his free hand found hers. She stopped walking and looked at it. What was he thinking right now? Wanting to walk hand in hand with her, he’d not done that in months and if he thought she was mad at him, how could he think that was appropriate at all?

Enough of that, we’re divorced, remember. She voiced out loud and tried to remove her hand from his.

No, we’re bloody not.” He bit out and refused to let go of her hand. Then he just picked up his pace a little, making her keep up with his long strides all the way out of the airport. She again tried to shake his hand from hers when they were outside and still he wouldn’t bloody let go as he led the way to where he parked

his car.

If you’re photographed Anthony, here at the airport hugging me or holding my handshe tried to tell him, only to have him cut her off completely.

Christy can bloody deal with it,he stated, and she could hear the annoyance in his voice.

Oh and me?she asked right back. What label will I getthe mistress? A door mat? If you suddenly start telling everyone we never got divorced, yet they all know you’re engaged to Christy, she bit out herself.

I don’t really care to be honest right this very second, Mischa, what the humans think. All I care about is

furned you knowing I missed you. That I did not like you being so very far away from me.He turned and looked at her, grabbed her chin and tilted her face up to make her look at him. That, I love you.

She just stood and stared at him blankly, she no longer believed any of that. She knew after his fretting had eased off completely, and she was back inside the pack once more. He’d revert right back to forgetting how he felt right this very second.

It wasn’t love as far as she was concerned anymore, it was possession and nothing more. She belonged to him, in his and his beast’s eyes, because there was a mate bond between them, because Selena had gifted her to him. So, she simply belonged to him and nothing more, and when he got his possession back where it belonged inside his pack, inside the Luna’s office.

She’d go back to being nothing more than an ornament in a room, one that was to be dusted off, polished

up and brought out and showed off to the allies when they were inside his pack, to show the Goddess had blessed him twice.

When she didn’t say anything back to him at all, he frowned at her, but then let her chin go. He understood she thought, that she wasn’t going to say it back to him, like he wanted her too.

Anthony put her suitcase in the back of his car and opened the passenger side door for her, and she got in. There was nothing she could do about his sudden possessiveness, and she’d been warned by Letti about what to likely expect. It appeared Letti wasn’t wrong.

They drove away from the airport, and she realized after a few minutes that they weren’t headed back to

the pack. Where are we going?she asked.

Out to have dinner, I’ve booked us into a restaurant so we can have a meal together, just you and I,

without the possibility of interruptions. He told her.

She nearly laughed, so this was how he was planning on getting around Christy interrupting a meal, so he even thought right now that his other Mate was going to find a way to bug him and interrupt a meal between them. So, he was trying to avoid that, him leaving Mischa to finish the meal by herself; because

he knew himself he’d probably get up and leave.

But then she frowned a moment later and turned to look at him, and she realized something, he was actually dressed to go out, that he’d even gotten a hair cut and was clean shaven, Goddess he’s preening.Laud snorted inside her mind A lot to late for that.’

Though he looked annoyed to her now, and she knew why he’d not gotten the response from her, he wanted; from him picking her up at the airport. We can eat inside the pack. We don’t need to eat out,she stated simply, and saw his hands tighten their grip on the steering wheel.

I’m trying to do something nice for us, and you’re blatantly telling me not to,” he bit out at her.

She shook her head and turned her attention back to the window. What did it matter to her in the grand scheme of things? Nothing she thought absently. Let him do as he pleases, she’d told him the truth of their situation before leaving his pack, and she didn’t honestly think anything had changed at all. He was simply agitated and still unable to settle himself because she wasn’t receptive to his socalled charm and faked

concern.

She heard him take in what appeared to be a few calming breaths and her lips twitched. She wasn’t the slightest bit mad, yet he was, it seemed, trying to contain himself. “Christy will apologize when you get home,” he said quietly into the car a few minutes later.

For what?she asked casually in return.

For her not putting your call through to me,he muttered. You were righthe sighed heavily in your wordsabout what happened.”

I don’t recall what I said anymore. She shrugged. What did I say happened?she asked simply and felt his eyes on her. She knew exactly what she’d said, but wanted to hear him state it for himself.

She wasn’t paving him any attention at all in this car, was now scrolling through the pack’s social media page, reading and hitting the like button as if she didn’t have a single care in the world. There was a full minute of silence, and she turned and looked at him knew he wasn’t about to go and repeat her very crude.

words that she now knew were true.

I’ve had a lot going on over the past couple of days, myself. Dealing with my own emotional issues, and getting help with myAffliction, I guess we’ll call it,she told him, reminding him of why she’d left the pack in the first place. What did I say?she asked once more.

She watched him shift almost uncomfortably in his seat, and wondered if he actually didn’t want to insult Christy, or didn’t want to remind her of that particular argument they’d had. Or just couldn’t bring himself to actually repeat her crude words.
