CH 117
Anthony pulled the car up into a parking lot of probably the restaurant they were supposed to have dinner at a few minutes later, and he’d still not answered her question. She turned to look at him and snorted with derision before speaking herself, “Oh, that’s right… She didn’t actually forget to tell you I called. She simply sucked your d**k and got you all kot and bothered, and then she fucked you and used that as an excuse as to why she forgot to tell you.
“That I called your phone, and she answered the call, clearly knowing I wanted to speak with you, because I called you directly from my phone to yours… Oh, and then when I asked her directly to put you on the line, Christy told me you were busy in the shower, and I reiterate for her to walk the phone into you so I could speak with you, yet… She wouldn’t take your phone to you for me to speak with you…” Mischa nodded.
“Hmm, I believe that was Christy actively not only intercepting my call to you, but then actively choosing to stop me from speaking with you as well… And then she lied about doing so, and you… as always, Anthony, you believed her lies.” She shook her head and made a tsk sound.
“You didn’t even get mad at her about not putting my call through, didn’t see fit to punish her for it either, not even when the Mate, who feels unloved and unwanted by you, pushed aside by her. Reached out to you for the first time in what… a month and what happened? I was denied my right to speak with you. My so–called Mate, who proclaims to love me and miss me, I was denied speaking to you by your other Mate, and she played it off as ‘oh I’m sorry I just forgot Tone. It’s a crock of shit Anthony, and you didn’t even think she would do that, yet I have proof she did.”
Mischa stared right at him. “I’m curious, Anthony, what message did I leave with her to pass on to you.” She asked now. “I want to hear it from you, without her here to try and convince you she didn’t mean it, to see if she lied to you yet again. Please relay to me what she told you when she lied to you about forgetting the call, and you had to confront her about it.”
He was quiet for several minutes, and then he just sighed. “I’m sorry, Mischa.” He murmured, “She told me, you called to say you were on your way home. Were just letting me know,” he muttered now. She even
she’d knew why the muttered words because he also knew that was a Ne as well; because she’d not gone home.
r
“Hmm, it’s good to see she can make up a plausible lie to convince you. Did I come home like she stated I would?” she asked, and he closed his eyes.
Yes, they were about to have it out. He thought that her coming home was a good thing, but her returning to the pack was going to be anything but, and she was going to lay it all out for him here and now without Christy around, not close enough to make him feel that bond in full. Out here he might actually have some brain cells working independently on their own.
“Just so you know, I didn’t leave a message at all,” she told him. “All I said when I realized she wasn’t even going to tell you I’d called. Was that ‘I hope you can bear the consequences of not putting you on the phone.’ Do you want to know what her response was… it will be an eye–opener for you, but not me,”
He looked at her now and sighed but nodded to say he did want to know, so she told him, “Christy told me

there uuld be no consequences. I was a million miles away, and she couldn’t do anything to me or be blamed for anything that happened to me.”
Anthony was frowning at her now as he listened to her words.
“I actually called you for a reason, Anthony. That was to tell you I wasn’t coming back to the pack on the scheduled flight, and would be gone for a few more days. To tell you where I was going and what I was going to be doing there… But…” she shrugged. “I opted not to in the end, seeing as Christy decided for you, that what I had to say to you wasn’t important for you to know.
“Just like she decides; how the human public sees us, what to post on your social media for the pack to see, who you spend your time with, who you spend your money on and if you get to see me of your own accord, without her interrupting us. Whose bed you always sleep in, and when we were on good terms and having sex, how long you got to stay in my room before she called you away.” She told him everything. “So, by that logic, you letting Christy dictate everyone you see and spend time with. Who am I to override Christy’s wants and needs? Who am I to tell Christy she doesn’t control you and dictate your actions when you let her do that at every turn. It’s clear I have no right to do that….
“Christy has made it plainly clear to me that if she doesn’t think what I have to say to you isn’t important, then I have no right to tell you. So I did not tell you what Christy deemed was unimportant to you.”
He was just staring at her now as she laid it all out. “Oh, it goes much deeper than just that, Anthony, you’ve just not allowed yourself to come to the full understanding of what she actually did that day by not letting me speak to you… Or maybe… you just refuse to believe it, if it crossed your mind at all.
“Let’s play the what–if game.” She stated flatly. “What if was being hunted by rogues and that call I made to you, was to tell you that very thing, that I was in actual danger and needed your help.” She pointed at him now, and she watched it dawn on him as he realized just what Christy’s denying her call to him could have seen come about.
“What if, Anthony, I had actually been kidnapped and that was one of your enemies, allowing me to speak with you before taking the phone off me to make demands of you, only to learn that your other Luna, Christy, did not care to put my call through to you.
“Which we both know would show your enemies that they could do whatever they wanted to me, including, beating me or brutalizing me, maybe even killing me, because Christy saw fit to show them that she didn’t care about my safety. So, by extension, neither did you.”
She watched the horror of what she was telling him cross his face as he came to the actual understanding that, that very thing could have actually happened. But she wasn’t done yet. “And you, Anthony, what did you do? … Believed her lies, of she forgot to tell you that I called, you didn’t punish her either now did you. “I could be dead in a ditch somewhere or have been sold off to the black market, in that two and half hours of you letting her suck your d**k and then going on to fuck her and having a good time, and all because she went out of her way to make sure you wouldn’t have a moment to spare to check your phone to see if I had called you.

“Do you see it now?” she asked as she saw it; guilt right there on his face for her to see because she was right, had hit that nail on the head. “I could have been slaved off into the kingdom for all you bloody knew or cared, to busy getting your rocks off in Christy. Her deceit and your blind faith in what she omits to tell you, or then tells you when confronted every single time.” Mischa shook her head “I told you once, that she hates me. Does this not prove that in a nice little nutshell?
“Maybe Anthony that was exactly what she was hoping for, for me to be in trouble, die out there and never come back. Maybe that’s why she didn’t put the call through and then distracted you, so you wouldn’t see that I called. Two and a half hours is plenty of time for me to be taken and killed or slaved out.”
“I’m sorry, Mischa,” he half whispered.
“You’re always sorry, but if anything had happened to me… would you telling my dead or brutalized self, mean anything to me? Or would I just believe you didn’t mean it. That you let those things happen to me, uncaring about me. Because you didn’t take my call?
“If I had died, would you have turned to Christy for comfort? And just blipped over the fact that I did call for help, and Christy told you she forgot that I called. Used the same excuse that she got so distracted by you being naked in her bedroom, while I died out there somewhere unknown to you, while you were fucking her, happy as Larry, until the moment you felt me severed from you and my filigree burned off your
neck.
“Hell, if that happened, Christy would have deleted that phone call log while you were struggling to deal with my death, and played at never having answered my call, is my bet. So, yes, I believe you would have taken comfort in Christy at my death, completely unaware it was Christy’s fault that you couldn’t save me.” She stated exactly what she thought would have happened.
“She’d again have gone unpunished for the death of your first Luna, and become your one and only Mate and Luna. Never would she have to compete with me or feel inferior towards me. Think you love me more. She’d have you all to herself,” she told him.
This she knew was no different to what she’d done when coming out of that self–induced heat, trying to
r bring about Mischa’s death at someone else’s hands and see herself being in the clear of it, and get away with it without Anthony being any the wiser.
It was to Mischa, nothing more than Christy’s traitorous tendencies on display for those actively watching for them, to see and understand what she was doing. Only those that blindly believed she would never do something like that missed it. That was why Anthony didn’t see it, because he didn’t want to believe Christy was out to harm her was all.
“So, do I have the right now, to be mad at you? At her? To not speak to you after all of that thought process. Because Anthony, this is what crossed through my mind that day, if I was being hunted, or had been kidnapped, that I couldn’t even call you, my own Mate for help.” She shook her head and sighed.
