The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa (by Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 118

He was getting a full reality check right now. She knew he already had issues with her and Nicholas being such good allies to each other. They were more than that, they were good friends, so close that she could

tell him or Lucinda what was going on in her life because she knew they wouldn’t judge her.

She knew they would accept her decision and had already told her anytime she wanted to she could go

and live in their pack, reject her Mate and they’d grant her sanctuary. Were in fact prepped for her to go

there. Lucinda had set up a room for her, and where in their packhouse? On the Alpha floor next to Mary’s

suite. That spoke volumes to her because only he and his family were allowed to live on the Alpha floor,

which told her Nicholas must look at her like an older sister.

She was about to hit Anthony where it hurt because the gloves were off; she was done playing nice. He was finally coming to understand they were indeed broken, but she still had a card to play, and she laid it

on the table for him to see now, it was a trump card.

She looked right at him, uncaring of how he took what she was about to say, So, in the future I will simply not call you if something does happen to me after hours. I will, in fact, call an Alpha that I know I can trust to pick up the phone and save me

I will call Alpha Nicholas for help from now on if I am in any kind of trouble, she stated with full certainty. At least I know that if his Mate picks up his phone because he’s in the shower, Lucinda would not deny me talking to him, likely state he was in the shower and talk to me until he got out, then hand the phone

over to him.

If I stated it was an urgent matter, I know I could trust/Lucinda to put Nicholas on the phone, regardless of the fact that he was in the shower, and I guess that’s the very difference between who I can trust, and who I can’t for you to hear in full, and understand now how I feel.

Because, to Christy, you showering to crawl into her bed for sex, is more important than you speaking with me, the Mate you’re supposed to be trying to bring back around to you, one you claim to miss and loveDo you really think I feel that at all, that Christy made me feel safe, secure and wanted by you orthe opposite of that,” she laid out who she would turn to from now on and who was to plame for her not turning to him anymore.

His expression. She sat and watched, going through a range of emotions, from apologetic to shock to horror, and then it was closed off before she saw anger starting to filter into his expression. His one hand, still on the steering wheel, had white knuckles, he was gripping it so tightly.

He had been looking at her the entire time she’d spoken, hadn’t even interrupted her, probably thought she needed to get it out to not be mad at him anymore. Had also likely been watching her for any signs of emotions other than her cold indifference.

Maybe looking to see if she was hurt or saddened by all she had thought, and felt she needed to explain to him, but there was really nothing for her to be angry about anymore. She and Laud had let them go; they were just a Luna on paper and nothing more, until she left.

He was unlikely to ever make her sad anymore, probably could make her annoyed still, but it was unlikely

she had any feelings left for him to get completely ticked off by anything he did, or didn’t do. But she could

use moments like this to make him feel the pain she’d felt, to see him come to realize she wasn’t the one

in the wrong. Make him self reflect on his own actions and feel guilty about what he’d done or not done.

She wasn’t upset by any of this anymore, she simply didn’t care, she knew she had an Alpha she could turn to and trust, and that Alpha wasn’t her own Mate. She didn’t trust him not to abandon her to her next heat;

that Anthony knew.

She’d now told him she did not trust him to come and save her if she was in danger; she would entrust her life not to her Alpha Mate, but to an Allied Alpha. She knew that had to hurt not only him but his ego as

well.

His jaw was suddenly ticking, and then he just turned and started the car once more, and drove it out of the parking lot away from the restaurant they were supposed to have dinner at. That was out the window for him. He was too pissed off about whatever was rolling around inside his mind to sit and eat a meal

calmly.

It didn’t much bother her. She’d not wanted them to be seen out in public having dinner anyway. She had solved that problem, telling him how things were going to go from now on, where she was concerned.

She didn’t ask him where he was going, she just turned and faced forward, and she could see for herself that they were headed back towards the pack a few minutes later, as he navigated the streets and headed for the highway that would lead them to the pack road.

She sat in her seat and scrolled on her phone, clicked into the group chat box for her unit and Paul and typed out Just a headsup, Anthony is fully ticked off, and we’re headed back to the pack, you might want

to clear the way.

What happened?Paul was the first to reply.

She sent back, I laid it out for him in full when he asked me if it was still mad at him. What I think and feel. How things are going to go, and who I trust and don’t trust. He’s not really saying anything, just vibrating with pentup anger, she glanced over at the speedometer and saw he was pushing past the speed limit by 15 mph.

I’d like to arrive in one piece. She murmured.

Despite that he was angry, she saw him ease off the accelerator and adhere to the posted speed limit. The e was already open for them as they came into the pack, and she wondered if he’d mindlinked to the guard as he’d slowed down and made the turn onto the pack road off the highway or if Paul had

ared the way.

Anthony didn’t speak a single word all the way home, and she wondered if he didn’t trust himself not to blow a gasket at her, when his anger couldn’t be aimed at her. She’d once again done nothing wrong. He pulled the car up to a hard stop outside the front of the packhouse, and she gasped as the seatbelt snapped tight against her chest and turned to look at him. He was already opening his door with one hand,

the other unbuckling himself. Then he was just out of his car, the door slammed shut behind him rocking

the vehicle.

Mischa shook her head as she saw him stalk off filthy mad into the packhouse. She couldn’t actually tell if

he was mad at her, or himself, and what he’d missed about the possible ramifications of him not taking

that call. Or if he was finally mad at Christy.

She got out of the car, at a much more sedate pace, collected her luggage from the back and made her way up the stairs and into the packhouse herself Where she looked about and couldn’t see him, but Paul was walking across the foyer to her.

Where’d he go?she asked curiously.

Upstairs to his suite,” Paul answered her. How’d things go for you out in Obsidian?he asked.

She thought about that for a moment and realized not even Anthony had asked that question of her, had heard she was getting treatment but had then not asked her how it went. Though she supposed she could put that down to her laying it all out for him at the same time.

Daha sent me home with

set of instructions for hin me good quality tailored drugs. I’ll give them to Brent. They came with a full

set of instructions for him. So I can only guess different dosages for each bout of heat unattended. I’ve actually not looked at it to be honest. I had other things going on that were actually better for me,” she

told him.

I’ll take my suitcase upstairs, she glanced at her watch, It was only half past seven, she’d not had dinner yet. Then I’ll come down and eat. I’m actually hungry; there is no food supplied on the human plane. I

gotta say Wolf Airlines spoils its passengers.”

Paul nodded. That they do.

San Francisco’s terminal is lavish, much more than the one here. She smiled and walked to the elevator and pressed the button to wait for it. She took herself to her suite and frowned as she stood outside her suite. Laud pushed forward and breathed in deeply to see what was itching her brain.

Yes, they could scent Anthony out here, and when they looked about, there was a pillow sitting on the hall table not that far away, likely to be his from him sleeping outside her room, but it wasn’t just his scent that she was picking up, there was another, and as Laud breathed in once more she got Christy as well up here, and not just her normal scent but something deeper, had a stronger musk to it.

She put Laud to the scenting of it in full. Laud pushed forward to be on the surface and breathed in again, that scent, it wasn’t on her door. But as she turned about, it was down the corridor, at the end of the hall where Anthony’s pillow sat on that table, not recent or strong but lingeringly so.

She scent marked that pillowor the hallway down there at some point while we were gone.’ Laud

snarled.

If that shewolf had managed to get into her suite, Mischa was going to go down to wherever she was and bitch slap that shewolf into next week, uncaring of who was there or tried to stop her, they’d all get

freaking beating as well.

She reached out to punch the code in and stopped before she did and mindlinked to Paul. Get me the footage from outside my suite, for the past few days, I got Christy’s scent near my door. Laud thinks this hallway was scent marked by Christy at some point while we were gone.

What!he gasped. I’ll get it now. He grated out, angry on her behalf, it seemed.

Mischa punched the code in and stepped into her suite. Laud was on the surface right away and smelling their suite. There was nothing in here, thank goodness. She felt her wolf settle and relax and so did she. What the hell was wrong with that shewolf? Didn’t she think that it would be picked up and reported, get

in trouble for it?

Overlaying her scent by our doorway. Anthony sleeping outside our room for two nights, Laud murmured.

That she could believe and understood, after only a moment’s thought, that Christy was trying to imprint herself here at Mischa’s door, so that if Anthony came down here he’d smell both of them, Christie’s scent would be stronger than Mischa’s even.

So, this was what she was doing to eclipse her? Unless, of course, Anthony and Christy had, had sex out there today at some point, and that was what she was picking up. She would have to wait for the footage to come back to her to find out just what the hell was going on.
