She placed her suitcase on her bed and opened it, where she got out that box of tailored pain relief drugs from Dana, and she walked out and placed it on her coffee table. She would have to take it down and give it to Brent to store in the morning, though right now she highly doubted that she would need it anymore. But she would keep it nonetheless.

For although she had her imbued bangle, and never planned to take it off. She would be wearing it every day from now on, so those around her saw it as just a normal thing she wore all the time. No different to Christy wearing that diamond ring. It had been mentioned a few times when she’d started wearing it, but then, after just a month, no one brought it up anymore because it was just seen as sortiething she wore all

the time.

This bangle was going to be like that for herself. If it was not on her, then people would ask where it was, and that would remind her to put it back on, though she’d slept with it on for the past two nights, and it hadn’t bothered her or disturbed her sleep. So she saw no need to take it off. The only time it had come off was when she’d showered, and she’d put it right back on once dried.

She walked back to her room and got that contract she’d signed for the heat–reduction bangle, along with the two envelopes for that research study she’d joined, that were for Anthony and Christy. Collected her Luna’s Diary and made her way to her private office here inside the suite.

She put that contract on her desk and took careful screenshots of the pages so they were clear and readable and then sat down and opened her laptop and turned it on. Accessed her e–mail and hit compose. Addressed it to Alpha Nicholas and marked it private and confidential.

‘Nicholas,

As my personal lawyer, I would like you to entrust you with this contract. I will courier the original copy down to you by registered post. This is Wolfen Council approved already. No need for you to go over it looking for loopholes. It’s signed and sealed with my blood; a done deal already.

If you could provide me with a good university; perhaps where you studied. And I was curious whether your law firm offers internships that are tied to any universities, or if there are placements that need attending during the degree, if so, would you be willing to have me attend them at your law firm?

I’m also debating reinventing myself for the degree… what do you think? I can pass for 25, and with make–up 22 or 23. Will that help with my getting into a law degree? I’m not certain how age affects the application to Law Schools. If there is a prejudice or not?

I’m 42 and after checking how to go about getting the degree, there is a prerequisite of a bachelor of arts or science of 4 years, for legal studies, before attending actual law school itself, which is another 3 years full–time… I wouldn’t be finished until I was at least 50 if nothing gets in the way. Erring on the side of there would be a hiccup with my age.

She hit the send button and then leaned back into her chair and sighed a little to herself. She did honestly think her actual age would be a problem. What woman in her forties took up a change of career that would see her study for seven years solid and be trying to pass the bar exam at 50? Who would even hire a newly passed lawyer who was 50 years old, so the reinvention of herself was probably going to be the best way

to do things.

If she started prepping things now to reinvent herself, it would be easier to activate later on, easier to move on and away from this pack as well, when she left. It was something that was also usually done by the pack’s legal team, which just happened for her to be Alpha Nicholas; a bonus.

Creating a new identity was not so arduous as it used to be, it was sorted out by the pack lawyers and passed on to the Wolfen Council, who dealt with it, contacting all the relevant wolves they had throughout varying human world government agencies, and within just a few weeks, your new identity was granted in full and your old one kind of just fell off the radar,

Her stomach growled, and she chuckled a little as she realized she was hungry. She’d told Paul she’d go downstairs to eat, but then had gotten waylaid herself when unpacking and seeing that contract which she knew needed to be locked away for safe keeping. She picked it up and locked it in her desk draw and then picked up the two envelopes for that study and headed downstairs with them.

She walked them right into her office and put them on her desk to be dealt with tomorrow. Right now she didn’t think Anthony was in the mood to do anything at all. She could feel that he was upstairs and when she focused solely on him, she could feel he was still in the Alpha Suite. What he was doing she didn’t know, but in a temper like that… that she knew, wasn’t going to be resolved in a matter of a few minutes.

He’d likely locked himself away in his suite on purpose, so as not to unleash all hell on this pack or anyone

She smiled at her unit as she headed for the dining hall once more “Dinner?” she asked them.

“We ate.” Letti answered her “Thought you would be in the city with Anthony a lot longer than you were. You obviously didn’t get to eat like he planned.”

“Nope.” She shook her head. “Kind of argued in the restaurant car park, we never got out of the car.” She

shrugged.

“I could eat cake.” Letti smiled at her.

They all made their way to the dining hall where she got food and the girls perused the dessert table, and they all sat down at the Alpha table like they always did. She saw Carol reach out and tap her bangle. “That is prettier in real life than in the photo you took.”

“It’s got a nice price tag too.” Mischa smiled at it. “I really did spoil myself.”

“How much?” Carol asked. “More than Christy’s ring I hope.”

“No, that rock on her finger is about 15 thousand give or take a few dollars. I only spent nine grand.”

They were all staring at her now and she chuckled softly. “I know, a bit of a shock because I never waste money like that, but…” she shrugged. “I think I’ve been through enough over the past year and well the last

few months to warrant it.”

They all just nodded. “Aren’t you due for a new car soon too?” Rebecca asked.

V “Mm, I am.” Mischa nodded. “Actually, it’s overdue, believe. Every seven years is what we agreed upon, so there was still some trade in value on them when purchasing a new one… I’ll have to start looking to see what I want, I guess. I should have gotten a new car a year and a half ago, but I put it off because Christy got her Luna car the year before.

Mischa chuckled as she ate and nodded. “I just might go with something that screams Luna’s car.” She’d always gone with something that was considered safe and reliable, opting for a Volvo four–door sedan over the flashiness of what was truly considered a Luna’s car.

“It’ll be red.” She smiled a moment later as she thought about it, and they all laughed, and again Mischa

knew that was because she also went with modest and plain as well. Her current Volvo was plain white and the une before that had been the traditional beige of a Volvo. Iconic coloring, she’d called it when Anthony had told her it was boring and to pick a better color.

But different colors cost extra and, as the pack’s accountant, she’d been trying to save money at every turn, had even traded in her other Volvo for the new one, to bring the price down, and gone with the base model, adding no extra features to it.

Her current Volvo, an S60, didn’t have that much mileage on it, and it was washed and kept in perfect condition, so she should get a good trade in price for it. She googled that very thing and smiled at seeing the result. It varied on the condition and mileage of the car from 8 to 22 thousand, which was good for

her.

She had a feeling she could trade hers in and get somewhere in the middle of that or even up to the high end of the market. She liked the idea of a new car for a new life, she’d start looking to see what was out

there.
